A most significant day in the history of the Bengali nation is Pohela Baishakh. The first day of the Bengali year. What we call Shubh Nabobarsh, the new year of the Bengali calendar begins on the 14th of the English month of April. It is a day worthy of mention in our culture. We celebrate this day with various joys and excitement.
On this day, various traditional Bengali dishes are prepared in every household. Especially the national fish Hilsa fish, eggplant fry, Dried chili and panta rice will be there. It seems that the morning does not start without eating this food for breakfast in the morning.
A government holiday is declared across the country to celebrate the Bengali New Year. Special cultural programs are held in every street and neighborhood. Traditional Bengali songs and various fairs are held throughout the day to highlight the local culture.
A singing session by renowned artists sitting on the traditional Romana of Dhaka. Wearing red and white bordered Baisakhi clothes, the New Year is welcomed with songs.
A cultural procession is organized by the Chhayanaut Art Group. This procession is worth seeing. The whole of Bangladesh is presented as a joyous procession on that day. Organized by thousands of people, the procession seems to represent Bangladesh and the culture of Bangladesh.
What made that picture special?
People of all professions are present here. Remakes of all kinds of people in Bangladesh are presented. Farmers, boatmen, blacksmiths, and people of different profession of the country are equally present. Everyone forgets the differences of caste, religion, and color and welcomes the New Year with new enthusiasm.
The picture I am presenting today is a reflection of my words.
This picture is special to us for many reasons.

Was it any special event, or something that quickly caught your eye?
First day of Baishakh was a sunny day. It felt quite hot due to the crowd of many people around. At this time, thousands of people were passing by at a slow pace for a long time. Hundreds of other people like me were enjoying the scene. But I did not see a single sign of annoyance on anyone's face. I saw a lot of joy and excitement among everyone. Which reminds me of the example of love for our culture.
Did it remind you of Any story, or Inspire you to write one for our story lovers?
Every country has its own culture. They have their own traditional culture. I especially feel proud of the glorious tradition of my country. All Steemian friends also feel proud of their culture. Through this article, I want to know those glorious stories from Steemian friends. After reading my writing, they should also share their extraordinary events with us. I have chosen today, the day of the Bengali New Year, to inspire them.
Was it taken by you or any professional photographer?
The picture I have presented was not edited by any photographer. I took it with my own handset, Huawei Nova 7i. I participated in that event that day.
