One picture, a thousand stories-Wk17
Hello..!!
My Dear Friends,
I am @tanvirahammad10 from #Bangladesh 🇧🇩
In the busy city life of Dhaka, thousands of events happen before our eyes every day, and many things happen silently and silently. One such scene caught the eye of college-going student Rumana this morning. a cat lying quietly on the side of the road. Many may have seen that scene, but very few people have found the story of life in it.
The cat was lying in front of an old shop on the side of the road. There was a layer of dust on its body, a trace of fatigue in its eyes, yet there was a strange fearlessness in it. The crowd of people around, the honking of cars, the shouting of shopkeepe it did not seem to be startled by anything. It seemed that it lived in the midst of this hustle and bustle of the city, that this was its home.
According to local shopkeepers, the cat has been roaming around the area for about six to seven months. They call it “Tuntuni.” Some said that it had previously lived in a house. After the house was demolished, no one took it away. Now he lives on the kindness of the street sometimes someone gives him milk, sometimes someone throws him rice crumbs.
Local resident Rafi says, “There are many cats like him in our area, but Tuntuni has a different look. He speaks with his eyes. Even when someone passes by, he looks at him as if to ask Did you see me?”
Thousands of such Tuntuni roam every street and alley of this city. Some notice them, some don’t. But hidden among them is the sad reality of a city the struggle for life of abandoned animals, the suffering they endure silently, and the lack of affection.
Today’s incident reminds us that no matter how modern we are, every living being in the city—be it a human, an animal, or a mute cat of them has the right to live, to be respected.
