RE: SLC-S25/W2 | Community World Tour: Festivals & Celebrations
There's a kind of masquerade in my place that parades the street of Abak in AkwaIbom state with chains on it legs and a sharp machete pierced through it's stomach ...
And at the end of the rituals, the matchet would be removed without any trace of injury... Spiritual things differently happen in this state where we come from...
Like you said, not all masquerades are friendly. Some will ask you to drop money for them kindly, Some will flog the hell out of you , like they did to @samuelbrilliant...
I've never been flogged by one . But I've been chased countless times 😂😂💯
The kind of adrenaline speed I usually unlock while being chased by those things ehhh...you won't believe it.
In my village, the Ekpo masquerade from another village used to write letters to youth at my own village that they were coming for a Chasing game.
But the youths at my place never took it kindly with them when the arrive... Some masquerades usually go home with serious wounds and injuries...
AkwaIbom is a culture diversified state and i wish for some of you who haven't visited to come check it out this Christmas...
Omor, the kind of rituals done during the process ehn. But do you wonder how the masquerades run long kilometers and not get exhausted?😂
It seems like the masquerade these days are after money, they just come out just to extort and they threaten you if you don't give.
And this your LGA that loves masquerade ehn, Annang as a whole, they can't skip playing it.
Omor😅, see invitation oo, shea na traditional Olympics
@samuelbrilliant should be ready for this year's festival, too much flogging go deh 😂.
That can never happen again, it just happened because it was in the night and I was surrounded by three of them, I had to secure my belongings, if not I can take them on 😅
You can take them on?
Are you into UFC or karate?😅😅
You never know 😅
We will go for the uruan's cultural day this December
