"Every Pet Deserves Love, Not Neglect"

I hope that you are all doing well and keep safe. Being an animal lover, I can always be significantly attached to the welfare of innocent creatures surrounding us. An experience I went through last night not only made me very heartfelt, but also left me very sad. This happened when I visited a pet shop and was able to see a dog whose situation made me understand again how significant it can be to speak up to animals that are not able to speak.

I went to a pet shop yesterday and met this dog and the sight of it left me in great concern. The dog was chained and looking weak and exhausted with apparent signs of hunger and neglect. Its tongue was hanging as though it had been waiting to get food and water but it appeared that even its fundamental needs were not being met in the proper manner.

I am an animal-lover, and I was much sorry to see such a loyal and harmless animal in this condition. I am strongly convinced that animals deserve to be treated to care, respect and compassion just like other living entities. Pets to me are not animals but love and joy givers in our lives. It hurts a lot to witness one suffer due to negligence.

This visit was a lesson that drew into the unlucky fact that a great number of animals kept in pet shops are not getting the care and food that they require. Pets are animals that have feelings and they are wholly dependent on people to provide food, protection and love. Not giving them the best treatment is not only irresponsible but also inhuman.

Animals must not be commodified and sold. To have healthy and happy lives, they need love, compassion, and constant attention. The shop owners and the caretakers should understand their duty with these innocent lives and they should be well fed, medically taken care of and treated kindly.

As human beings, we can contribute to it as well by spreading awareness, reporting about cases of animal neglect and promoting ethical approaches to pets. All pets should be respected and taken care of, given a secure environment- at the end of the day they will unconditionally give their allegiance and adoration to human beings, and the least thing we can do back is with kindness.
