happy day

Today was a day filled with togetherness and joy for me and my group. Since morning, we had been preparing everything to accompany the groom to the Simpang Mulieng Menasah Ara (groom's funeral procession), a long-standing tradition in our community at every village party or celebration.

The atmosphere was friendly and lively. Cheerful young men lined up neatly, carrying the linto Baro (a traditional Chinese linto) under umbrellas. I felt proud to be part of this group, as this tradition isn't just about delivering the linto but also preserving cultural values passed down from generation to generation.

gifts and enthusiasm of youth on a happy day

Upon arrival at Menasah, the atmosphere grew even more festive. Traditional music, the boisterous voices of children, and the smiles of parents welcoming our group warmed our hearts. The young men carrying the linto Baro were then led to the wedding stage at the party venue. The presence of the linto Baro symbolized the community's spirit of togetherness in making the event a success.

On the other hand, I also saw how the community played such a united role in this event. Some were busy preparing the venue, others were managing the guests, and still others were taking care of the other dishes. Everyone seemed to be working wholeheartedly, selflessly, to ensure the smooth running of this sacred event. Small things like this further convinced me that tradition is the glue that maintains harmony in community life.

For me, today's experience wasn't just about accompanying the Linto Baro, but also about learning so much about the meaning of togetherness. This tradition plays a profound role in understanding that we cannot walk alone in life. Support, cooperation, and unity are key to ensuring every activity runs smoothly and brings blessings to all.

As I close this emotional day, I return home with a heart filled with gratitude. Although exhausted from participating in the series of events, the joy created is far greater. I hope this Acehnese tradition will continue to be preserved, so that future generations can still experience the beauty of togetherness within our culture.
