CUTE GRANDMA
Hello steemians, I am very delighted to share my entry and I will love to appreciate Recreative Steem community and @noelisdc for hosting his contest. Let me begin my story.
Do you have or did you have a doting grandmother? We'll talk about her. If you didn't, did any grandmother outside your family adopt you as her grandchild? We want to hear about her too.
Yes I do have a grandma, her name is Grace I love her very much because she's one of the most caring people I know. She treats me like I am her treasure, no matter how older I get. Whenever I go visiting, she makes sure I feel at home, that's my number one reason I visit her often. She has this gentle way of showing me love that excites me and makes me feel important. Sometimes she doesn’t even need to say anything—just the way she looks at me with her smile is enough to make me feel loved.
What is the most iconic phrase your grandmother has ever said to you?
The most iconic phrase my grandma always says to me is, “Don’t rush life, everything has its time.” When I was 15, I didn't know fully well what she meant, but now I realized that it is her way of telling that I should be patient and also not to compare myself with others. I think this phrase has shaped me because every time I start panicking, her words come back to me, and I feel more at peace.
Grandmothers love to pamper their grandchildren with their recipes. What food do you delight yourself with?
Yes,it is this part that she normally pamper me the most. Her recipe is definitely Ekpan Nkukwo. This is my favorite meal from my grandmother, and no one makes it like her. Eating her Ekpan Nkukwo is not just about food. The taste of the food is her love and care in every single spoon I take in. I always look forward to it when I visit her, and she never disappoints. She will even laugh sometimes and say, “I know this is what you’ve been waiting for,” because she knows me so well.
As grandchildren, we know how to recognize our grandmother's seasoning. Did any daughter or grandson inherit that seasoning?
Yes, it is my senior sister that has inherited this great thing from her. She had learn from her a while now. Whenever my sister cooks Ekpan Nkukwo, it brings back the same warm feeling of comfort and love. I feel happy knowing that even when grandma gets older, her special seasoning and style won’t be lost.
