Why do mistakes keep coming back even after being corrected? | Life Experience

Greetings to all. I would like to share my feeling with you. People make mistakes all the time. It's a natural part of life. We learn from those mistakes, gradually building the right version of ourselves. I myself am the same — I made mistakes in the past, admitted them, and changed myself over time. Now I am not the same person I was before. I have corrected myself a lot.
But the problem comes when those old mistakes are reminded again and again — that too from people I used to consider very close to me.

Yes, I made mistakes. But those mistakes are not who I am today. Yet some people seem to want to keep me stuck in that old identity. Even if they are joking, lightly joking, those words hurt me from the inside.
The most painful place is created when I am afraid to even say something worth saying. Because if I say, "Why do I need to remind you of these things again and again?", then that dear person will be arrogant and say, "Okay, I won't talk about you anymore."
This insistence, these words... you know, hurt even more.
Then keeping quiet seems like the easy way out, although that may be the hardest.

Life is really not that easy. Here, we meet many people, relationships are formed, and some relationships also get dirty in the flow of time. We cannot maintain all relationships even if we want to, because relationships are not completely in our hands. They survive with time, understanding, and mutual respect. Some become sweet memories in our lives, while others remain as shadows of pain.

My request is very simple — I have made mistakes, accepted them, changed myself — so instead of reminding myself of those mistakes again and again, I learn to see my present. I also want relationships to survive, to survive on trust.

I tell all of you, do not judge someone by their past, but try to understand how much they have changed. If someone improves themselves, then that is proof of their courage — not of their weakness.
