Be careful of the medicines you buy

in RECREATIVE STEEM18 days ago

The other day, I went to a pharmacy to buy sodium bicarbonate, my mum's tummy was upset and ahe had been coming to the toilet for several turns. We had been sick; everyone in the house had fever, colds and cough but my mother's sickness was accompanied by diarrhea.

I was still very weak but I went to my work because I know we still have many things to pay; I will only be sitting around all day and I brought some medicines with me. That day, I was feeling unwell, my head was heavy and painful and my colds are really bothering me. Thank God there were many herbs at the back of our work building and I took some sambag sambag and put it in my cup and added hot water. It tasted beey bitter but a an hir after taking the bitter herb, I felt hot and sweaty; my head felt light and I was suddenly like magically well.

But before I could go home, I received a call from my mother asking me to buy sodium bicarbonate, the pharmacy wheere my daughters could go without crossing the road ran out and of course, I did.

My husband went to pick me up, and I immediately noticed he was feeling sick as well, he just forced himself to take me home and I i thank him big time.

We stopped by on the pharmacy that we passe by first and I told the pharmacy attendant I need sodium bicarbonate United home brand but gave me fern C instead and insisted that it is better because it has low acidity; she even showed me the generic name at the carton pack which was sodium ascorbate.

I pointed it out to her and only then she realized that she was wrong and quickly get what I needed.

The tip of my ear heated of course because there are several times when a supposed to be experienced person gives a wrong medication. Giving the person a wrong medication might get serious when his illness is not treated properly or may have allergic reaction to the given medication.

I don't know what's wrong with that lady she must be tired with her work but I do hope that other customers will be attentive to the medicine given to them as well to avoid unlikely incidents.

What about you, have you encountered the same situation with me? What would uou do if you were me in this kind of situation?
