Digging up the Past: Old Photographs
Some people digs the past about those painful moments they have encountered in a certain people, but I'll be digging the fun and funny past I have with these old pictures that I found in the photo book that I have been keeping since high school.
In the year 2000 backwards, there are no smart phones with cameras here where I live and there is only one person who has a camera that time. It was the husband of my teacher in kinder until grade two, and he has only one hand because he had an accident with a rice miller in his younger days. Time flew too fast that in my high school days, some of the kids in town has MP4 players and those came in with camera. Then a pastor, who was a family friend lived near us and he has a camera which he sometimes et us borrow. Now that i could call it Smart phone Era, where everybody has a phone of his own , and everyone can do photographs, old cameras were neglected for it costs a lot from buying the camera until the printing of the photo.
Here is my husband, He was the one in orange and has won gold medal in amateur boxing during a provincial meet in school's athletics event. During 4th year of high school, now a 10th grade, he was always out of school to practice in his events.
This was an event where my whole school and the parents were having fun in Kahulugan spring resort, those two kids who photo bombed are friends who went to the same school. It was a private school and is connected with a church in the locality. This is my mother holding me.
This is me and my high school friends, the man was Juniber and the one on the back is Beverly. This was taken in an MP4 player by Noriel and she made us pay 5 pesos to print the photo. she is good in business and everything she had, she makes money out of it.
I remember this was the first birthday cake that I have and was shared with the lady on the leftmost of the picture. She was a half-sister, my father's daughter in another woman once he had sinned with m mom before I was born. She and her brother lived with us for a few months until some misunderstandings and since then they never returned. Her brother made an effort to bring back the relationship but I don't want to hurt my mother even more so I'm like in the ground zero about it now.
This is me and this photo is taken where we lived until I turned 7. The place's name is Labor's Camp, weird name right/ this was where laborers lived during the Japanese colonization took place long time ago. At least this is what I heard from the stories of the ones who went before me. I really loved That mountain in my background, Its called Mount Kitanglad, the highest place that I can see from there. Until now, I love to see that mountain but I have never been there.Last May this year, I found out that Mount Kitanglad was a sleeping volcano and will be very dangerous it it goes active.
This photo was taken in Iligan City where my family and I had a getaway in those times. there were lots of pictures during the whole event but this is what I had I guess I have stolen it from my family's photo book. I realized in this photo that my second born and I looks so similar.
this photo was taken in my Aunt's house. During this time, I was so curious what the box behind me is and how it works. She has a life way ahead of ours.
This was during an after-school ceremony in the private school that I mentioned above. The foreigner behind me is a missionary of the church and they sponsor a lot during activities such as this one. I accidentally shaved my eyebrows the day before this activity that Is why I wore my bangs like this. I was so conscious about it that I was not able st smile during the taking of the photo.
This is me on the Kindergarten graduation. It was dark in the stage, so when that camera flashed, I closed my eyes.
From left to right: Me, my nephew, Sweet-sweet and Faith, they are siblings. It was on our graduation day in grade six . I borrowed the uniform that I wore from a classmate's sister. I'm lucky I'm small that the uniform fits me. The socks that I wore too were borrowed. I don't know what happened but they don't have the same height . Maybe I wore the wrong pair. Its funny and I am ashamed of it that when in my solo picture,I covered it with a paper and disguised it with a tag.
Thanks for reading and have a good day to us all.
