Fixing My Water Pump: A Simple DIY Success
There’s something satisfying about fixing things with your own hands. Yesterday, when our water pressure dropped suddenly, I knew exactly where to check. The DC water pump had been working hard, and sure enough, when I pulled it up and opened the housing, I found the culprit a worn-out rubber seal inside the impeller (what we locally call the "worm").
The metal worm itself still looked good, but its rubber lining had cracked with age. A quick trip to the market brought me a replacement seal for just Rs. 200. With some grease and careful reassembly (plus an extra pair of hands from my wife to hold the flashlight), we had the pump back in its well within an hour.
