I remember installing Windows 95 from 30 floppy disks. It was during my first years of working, and I probably was either afraid (or didn’t know how) to reconnect the HDD to speed up the copying process. So I transferred the installation files using just two floppies — one for writing, one for reading, and then switching them back and forth. That must have been right in my very first days at work after university.

Yes, I can still remember the many floppy discs and the long waiting times when installing Windows... and usually something went wrong and you had to start all over again :-)

In this respect, things are currently much better.

When I was in my first year at university, I still bought packs of 5.25" floppy disks. But by the end of my studies, 3.5" disks were already everywhere.
ChatGPT illustrated the floppies beautifully — unlike Microsoft Designer, which clearly got something wrong

LOL, today not even every AI knows what floppy discs look like. Obviously they haven't been trained with that :-)
