The hustle and bustle of the market and the smell of street food
Assalam-O-Alikum Friends,
Yesterday was a very nice and refreshing day In the morning i wake up a little earlier than usual. A light cool breeze was blowing outside and the sun's rays were just beginning to spread in the sky. After taking bath and getting ready, I thought of going and getting vegetables myself today.
After some time I left for the market. The roads were not very crowded at that time just a few shopkeepers were opening their shops. After reaching the vegetable market I felt happy seeing the fresh vegetables – the smell of green chillies tomatoes potatoes, and fresh coriander filled the entire atmosphere with freshness.
While picking up the vegetables, I remembered that my son Mohammad Uwais also loves sweets — and then I saw my favorite KitKat chocolate in a nearby shop. I could not stop myself and took it immediately. I have loved chocolate since childhood and now even my son starts smiling when i give it to him.
The sweetness felt after eating a piece of chocolate while returning home made the whole day sweeter.
After returning home, I arranged the vegetables, completed some work and played with my son for a while. The afternoon passed peacefully. I cleaned the house and prepared tea for my husband. The peace found in small tasks is real happiness.
I watched my favorite program on TV for some time and relaxed. Mohammad Uwais kept playing near me, his laughter echoing in the room. In such moments it seems that the real happiness of life lies in this – these simple moments spent with family.
As the evening approached, the weather became very pleasant. I told my husband that let's go out for a bit today and eat something outside. She also immediately said yes.
The three of us reached a nearby street food area — where the smell and excitement of food was everywhere. There we ordered our favorite Sev Usal. The aroma of hot sev-usal further increased the hunger. The spicy taste, the sev and onion on top, and the slight sourness of the lemon – everything was perfect.
My son was also enjoying a lot sitting at the table. He would repeatedly pick up the spoon and sometimes talk to me and sometimes to his father. Seeing her smile made my heart happy. That's what street food is all about simple yet heart warming flavours.
We spent some more time there the cool breeze was blowing and amidst the hustle and bustle of the city that moment became very special.
After returning home i drank some water watched TV for a while and put my son to sleep. Despite the tiredness of the day my mind was feeling very light and satisfied.
Sometimes the most beautiful days of life are the ones when nothing big happens — just small moments, spent with the people you love. Yesterday was the same day too – a lovely morning, a delicious evening and a pleasant time spent with family.
