Supposedly, I'm somewhere around B1 level in German (after 5+ years of daily DuoLingo language lessons, I have a score of "74"), so not far from your A2 in English. My German ability is only in reading, and maybe writing, though. I definitely would not be able to hold the type of interactive conversation that you described about Starbucks.
In my opinion, independent language learning is a difficult task and rarely does anyone truly master a language without a teacher. Unless you get into the appropriate language environment. But your result is very good, better than I could have expected if I had studied on my own.
I wonder why you chose German?

I work for a German company, so I wanted to be able to read the occasional German-language emails that come across my computer screen.
I saw this video back in 2020, and I thought I'd be fluent in 2 years. Didn't work out that way. 😉
