We've got a Rosemary bush in our back garden, living in the UK. It's a surprisingly hardy plant and I love using it in cooking. Often strimming the leaves (extremely easy with your hands) and then chopping them up finely. It cooks particularly well with meat or if you BBQ, it's nice to put a sprig on the coals to infuse a bit of the flavour.
Yummy!
EDIT: "I once experimented and threw a green sprig on the burning coals before putting the kebab on. " - it looks like you already know this one!
It’s amazing that rosemary survives the winter in the UK. But apparently this plant is really very resilient! To be honest, I’m surprised. Yes, it’s an excellent seasoning for meat. In my opinion, it goes especially well with beef or lamb. After my attempt to burn a green sprig on the barbecue coals, my wife simply walked away because of the smell 🤷🏼♂️ So, people have different tastes... 👌🏻
It's good just as a scent too - sprinkling some on a candle works well... although it sounds like your wife would disagree!
It also goes well with chicken and pork... it's probably good with any meat really!
Our rosemary bush has been in our garden since we bought the house 7 years ago. I probably couldn't kill it if I tried!
Pork? That’s a great idea. I’ll definitely give it a try. Although my landlord is a religious Jew, and if he smells pork, he’ll burn me on the same barbecue. Just kidding about the burning ))
Thank you for the comment!
... and add a sprinkling of Rosemary to make you a little more tasty!
