RE: Думки про життя та ...(1частина)

Wow! You've really covered a lot here - I wasn't expecting you to end on Dinton Pastures!

You're correct - death is becoming increasingly big business in the UK. So much so that there are companies which will pay you money whilst you are dying and then pay for your funeral and all they ask in return is your family home. Nice!

There's also a 3 week minimum wait before you can get a slot at a crematorium, prolonging the suffering of families. As the grieving family comes into the front of the building, the previous grieving family leave out the back. It's an extremely slick operation.

We don't do death very well. As a nation, we're scared of it. We avoid talking about it. We don't know how to handle it. And companies have started to take advantage of that.

As for Dinton Pastures - that looks far better than I remember. I remember having a school trip there when I was little and I caught a Newt in a jar. I can't remember what else.

Memorial benches (the ones with the names on) are extremely common here. They are especially plentiful near to beaches and I agree - it's nice to sit, read the name and think about them. Their families would be happy that you've done that (so long as you imagined them having a happy life!)

I'm not sure how you arrange that - presumably it's done via the council or on the condition that you provide the bench. I've got no idea really!

Ми не дуже добре сприймаємо смерть. Як нація, ми її боїмося. Ми уникаємо розмов про це. Ми не знаємо, як з цим впоратися. І компанії почали цим користуватися.

We are born to live, that's why we avoid talking about death. But there are many such nations, almost all...
