debates about formalities that no longer have anything to do with blogging.

Ironically, we have fewer formalities than ever, but the debates remain hot. I also don't like to police anyone on how to behave—if someone writes well but doesn't live up to the "desirable behaviour", it's likely that their voice will fade or won't be noticed in the first place. But then there's abuse... and not every abuser wants to change or deserves flexibility. They cause disruption at every opportunity. Shall we turn a blind eye to them? We can. But sometimes addressing the issue becomes necessary before things go out of hand.
