Not a surprise to me, this particular side of life is much better in Germany than Bulgaria 😎

All passenger cars in Bulgaria undergo MOT every year. The only exception is for brand new cars, with first MOT in two years, or three, from the top of my head and then it's the regular roundabout, every year. It's another mean for the government to milk the citizens.
Two years ago I paid 50 BGN, about 25 Euro for my car MOT, this year it was 90 BGN, that's about EUR 45. Not a small increase for just two years.

Businesses suffer even more as for trucks and busses MOT is every six months and much more expensive too.

If average salary and standard of living is taken into account, it would appear that Bulgarian MOT is more expensive than German MOT...
