Hi, friends. It's great to join you again. I'd kickstart my journey with this interesting contest organised by @steem4nigeria.

As a teenager, I've always dreamt of having my own space. Seeing this contest made me reflect deeper on why I truly want to live alone.

What do you think are the biggest advantages and disadvantages of living alone compared to living with someone?
The main reason I'd opt for living alone is to have a stronger sense of independence. Living alone keeps you in control of your life and activities. You get to decide what to do, who to hang out with and how to run your life.

Also, it spurs you to become the best version of yourself. Imagine that you have to budget money monthly for your next meal. You'd be forced to think of legit ways to make some money.

You'd have the courage to approach potential employees or clients. You'd take your job more seriously and work smart and harder to make ends meet. That way, you'd stay disciplined and accountable. But the reverse would be the case if you know that you have someone to rely on.

What looks like the disadvantages of living alone, for instance, fending for yourself would actually pass off as an advantage if you look at the limitless possibilities lying in wait for you.

Do you believe living with someone helps improve emotional well-being, or can it sometimes limit personal growth? Why?
One way to improve your emotional wellbeing is through connecting with people. Social connection does what therapy might not do.

Just kidding for emphasis sake.😊

So, when you live with people, you tend to be happier.

But you can't live with just anyone. Take for instance, living in a rowdy hostel space in school. This can affect your academics and life if you live with the wrong people. Hence, hampering your personal growth.

At what stage in life do you think it’s best to live alone, and when is it better to share your space with someone?
As I mentioned above, living with people can also limit your personal growth, especially if you are at an age when you should be most productive.

The best time to live alone should be 18. This does not mean renting a house. You can get a hostel space, travel away from home. You'd learn independence early.

If you had to choose between peace and companionship, which would you prioritise in your living situation and what shaped that choice?

Both. You can actually have a peaceful and healthy companionship with people, whether family or roommates. It's all about deciding what works for you at the moment, choosing who to work with and setting healthy boundaries

Inviting @bonaventure, @yhudy and @sariana23 to the contest.
