The Secret to Strong Relationships

I am here to discuss about the contest organised by @ruthjoe in steem4Nigeria community. This contest is so interesting because it allows us to discuss some of the important thing in our relationship in order to be a real one.

What do you believe is the number one secret to a strong relationship?

A relationship is the process by which two or more people are connected together, which is base on effective communication as well as positive interactions that keep their relationship stronger.

The number one secret in a relationship is trust. Once your partner trusts you, such a relationship will last longer, and it would also mean that you have their best interest at heart. Anytime they need something, they rely on you because they believe that you are capable of doing that for them. Trust promotes relationships in the community we find ourselves in, even if people speak negatively towards your partner. The best thing is not to listen to them; try as much as possible to move away from them so that such a relationship can succeed.

What role does active listening play in building stronger connections?

Active listening plays a crucial role in building stronger connections with your partner because it creates rapport as well as allows you to fully understand what your partner is saying to you. This shows that you feel what they are feeling and value their presence. Active listening involves the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication in order to strengthen the relationship between the two partners.

Try as much as possible to ask questions about the messages your partner has said to you in order to clarify any misinterpretations. It also allows the partners to feel free and open with you, which will result to build stronger relationship as well as resolutions that allow peace to reign.

Can a relationship survive without forgiveness? Why or why not?

Such a relationship would not survive; the best thing for them is to forgive and forget in order for their relationship to be an authentic one. If the two partners do not forgive one another, it will soon break.

Sometimes it occurs when a mistake is caused by one partner, and he or she refuses to say sorry. That relationship is on the verge of collapse, where they may part ways and never meet again. Forgiveness is like a cure or treatment that heals the wound; without forgiveness, it can damage the relationship we have been building for a long time.

What’s a common mistake people make in relationships that weakens them over time?

A common mistake that normally weakens relationships is when one partner does not pay attention to what the other partner is saying. Neglecting such communication can weaken the relationship, where a wife may seek advice from her friends. If she is not careful, they may advise her wrongly.

Sometimes a husband or wife may take their relationship for granted by not respecting each other's views as well as not showing signs of appreciation. Such neglect may result in unresolved conflict. A wife or husband who loves their work more than their family can also weaken their relationship because they may not have the time to address the most important issues affecting their family.
