Contest Alert: First impression!

This is my post for the contest, "Contest Alert: First impression!" in the "Steem4Nigeria" community, organized by @okere-blessing.

Have you ever met someone for the first time and been impressed or turned off because of the person's actions? Tell us.
Actually, I have a lot of experience regarding this matter. I have met a lot of people in the past few years. Several people impressed me at our first time we met, while the others made an uncomfortable appearance at the first place we met.
I don't like to judge people on their first appearance. But surprisingly, 90% of the time, first impressions give the correct idea of the people.

Explain your understanding of the saying first impressions matter a lot?
Yes, first impressions really matter a lot in the following situations.

1. In a job interview
   In a job interview, the interviewing panel tries to recruit the most suitable candidate for a job. And, we will only have 5 - 10 minutes to conduct the interview. Within this short time, the panel has to judge the candidate's whole personality.

1. 1st date
   In this situation, the first impression matters most. The partner normally gets a lot of ideas about the other person from their appearance and personality. Based on the first impression, these two people can be totally changed.

2. Business/ Client meetings
   In a business or a client meeting, it is very important to make the business or the deal in a business, it is very important to finalize things quickly, since most of the people that are engaging have a very busy schedule. So, in this kind of situation, the first impression might be costly, sometimes millions of dollars.

Tell us about your recent experience of a first impression of something or someone.
There is a first impression experience about the latest recruited employee in our workplace. By the time I could understand that, as the first impression felt, he is a really good and dedicated person.

Tell us how people can make a first impression that positively counts.
There are a few things to consider during the first impression.

1. The attire
   The attire should match with occasion, like wearing a formal dress for a business or a conference.
2. How do you smell
   It is very important to wear a high-quality fragrance and use something like a mint if your mouth smells bad.
3. Polite words
   Using polite words is a must during a first impression to not hurt the other person.
