My Neighborhood Watch #111 - Reporting Events Around us

in Steem4Nigeria10 days ago

Being a project student at the University of Uyo, this week has been one i described as a testament to patience, perseverance, and the importance of attention to detail. Following the defense of my project last Wednesday, we were all instructed to make all necessary corrections highlighted during the defense, hard bind five copies of our work, and unfailingly submit them to the coordinator on Monday.

I did carefully incorporated all the corrections suggested during the defense, carefully ensuring that my work reflected the quality expected at this stage. I handed the corrected project to the binding center and was informed that the imprinting ink would need to dry properly before binding.

Respecting this advice, I left them over the weekend, confident that they would be ready by Monday. And upon returning, I was pleased to find that the five hard-bound copies were prepared, and I promptly pay them for their services and took my work to my supervisor for signing.

However, upon arriving, I was told that she was engaged in a class. I waited patiently for her until the session ended, checking back, I find out she had then moved to her sit, which allowed me a rare opportunity to meet her without the usual crowd of students. Our friendly rapport, just like that of a mother and son, granted me entry while others waited outside.

  • She received my project and then asked me to explain the corrections I had made. As I responded, she turned to Chapter Four, reviewing my tables and cross-checking my variables which she cancel out the words variables I use to highlight the tables. She directed that I use Teaching Method and Gender instead, a change that affected six pages of my project across all five bound copies.

Immediately, I rushed to implement all these corrections, replacing the previous content with the revised one. My friends,m who made Same mistakes, urgently execute the corrections promptly on their work. Unfortunately, my work could not dry the same day, and I returned on Tuesday. Upon reaching my supervisor’s office, she was engaged in a postgraduate defense.

I also had to wait patiently until the session concluded and was finally able to submit my corrected work though in the evening. She meticulously cross-checked it once again, signed all five copies, and we briefly discussed an article I had given her for review, exchanging insights in a friendly and professional manner as usual.

My Declaration and Certification

  • Next, I wanted proceeding to the coordinator’s office for final submission, only to be informed that he's absent. I returned back to school on Wednesday, toy surprised he was already on sit attending to students. We all followed the proper order for entering his office according to number he assigned to us, and I was fortunate to be the second person to meet him.

Our conversation surely touched on the challenges faced by the students community each day, precisely the poorly managed computer-based exams, inadequate equipment, and the delays in examination schedules, risking students to dangers of robbery by night. We also shared details about my local government area, Ikono, and he expressed some familiarity with my region. Though initially surprised that I appeared unlike a typical indigene of ikono, but I convincingly assured him of my origin. He obviously imposed a minor charge on me for the late submission, and finally, I documented my project and it was fully accepted with gratitude.

Above are my Dedication, Acknowledgement, Table of contents and Abstract

Much grateful and relieved, I took the opportunity to take pictures of my personal copy after the school retained three copies and as well my supervisor kept one.

  • This experience, though very stressful, has only reinforced in me the understanding that being an undergraduate at Uniuyo always requires resilience, patience, and so much of unwavering commitment all day throughout your stay. The entire process, from the corrections to the final submission, all demonstrates perfectly that success in academia is not merely about intellect, but it's also about a true dedication, persistence, and genuinely the willingness to navigate challenges with grace.

Conclusion

The here journey here fully reminds me so well and of course my fellow students that while the path of academia may be so demanding to us as seen, perseverance and meticulous attention to details ultimately leads way to our accomplishment. Truly, God’s favor was an evident in the smooth completion of this submission process, and I am deeply grateful for this milestone in my academic journey.

I invite @bossj23 and @nsijoro to share their encounters too, while @whizzbro4eva learn from us what he'll soon experience.
