I feel this challenge removed the beast in me as I've never be so creative in my life. The impossible challenges at first became possible later on. I was made to dig into my past, my cultural heritage, my county's tradition and lifestyle. In every challenge and touch of creativity, it took me hours, days and composure to come up with a creativity that would give me a secured slot among the winners.

This is to say, anytime I'm writing, I'm writing to win. I don't create contents just because I'm told to. I create contents to impact, to motivate, to speak, to encourage and to teach. Take a quick look at the following weeks I participated in this challenge. The only weeks I was exempted from winning due to late submission and no submission at all were week 1 and 5.

Week 1 — Traditional Cuisine

This was the first challenge i participated. At first, this challenge didn't move me because I felt I was a woman's thing. Cooking? I'll definitely not win. So I was just reluctant until I saw entries that captiva to yourted me. I decided to join the entry a day before the deadline. Before joining, I allowed my creativity fly far. I went traditional because that's what the contest entailed. I decided to spend over 2k to make purchases and my creativity this week were;

  • Night setting with night fire
  • Smoking fish and roasting plantain

This was the creativity I thought of. I didn't want to do this dish during the day as others were. I just wanted something outstanding. Then my photographs and arrangements did justice to it as well. This traditional cuisine reminded me of all the traditional dishes my grandma usually prepare for us when we were young. She'll pound Banana in a mortar and add oil. This week made me cherish all my local foods.

Week 2 — Festivals and Celebrations

Festivals aren't an exemption in my country talk more of celebrations that are held almost every month. I've been to several events, festivities and marriages. In a year, I must have an history of dancing in a traditional marriage or wedding. I'm not exempted from celebrations, especially those that are traditionally inclined.

I didn't need to attend another traditional marriage to capture a moment. I used the ones I've been attending to showcase my talent in dancing and upholding traditional accessories is making dance moves. I narrated a traditional event I attended where certain rites are done and how these rites are done. Engagements had it that if it takes a man to climb a mountain before marrying the first daughter in my culture, he'll rather remain single.

Week 3 — Landscapes

This week reminded me of times I went to streams in my village and seas where commercial activities are done. I tend to be more creative with pictures and videos than in words. The cultural link and connections were shared in this post as to how the Nwaniba beach was created and why it is called Nwaniba. I did a lot of research back there to the extent of going to the beach and making interviews with boat men and fishermen.

It was a whole lot of work that at some point, I felt I should just give up writing this week. But I participated and won.

Week 4 — Costumes

This was one of the most difficult challenge to carry out because I wanted to write like a winner and my pictures and videos were to do justice to this. How do I start? I don't have costumes of other cultures. How do I do the impossible? I'll need to research and improvise. I checked German outfit and decided to rock it with my white vest, three-quarter trouser and hat. This was more like it. Then I made use of my brother's Yoruba dress for Yoruba culture coupled with that of mine. I just did everything differently so I would win.

Regardless of the fact that I submitted first, my entry was worth the grade and I thank kouba01 for reminding us how important our traditional wears are and why wearing them gives us importance and significance.

Week 5 — Dance

It was so annoying that I missed my entry this week. As I was rushing to submit in time due to my exams that made me busy throughout the week, I didn't know when I slept off and that was how I missed submitting my entry before 12Am after the deadline. Why do late? This was my best performance in the entire challenge but I fucked off and made it wave. I was just so tired and week. After writing everything and uploading my videos, I couldn't upload the post. So bad.

Anyways, we were to dance in unexpected places and I beat that by dancing at the top of an incompleted building. The way I dance was gracefully seen in my moves and steps. This reminded me of why dance is an essential aspect of traditional and why it resonates with our cultural heritage.

Week 6 — Proverbs

This taught me a whole lot about life and I guess, this is the 2nd best creativity I achieved this season that just ended. I personally learnt from every proverb and their meanings, how it applies to real life and their interpretations.

Words of Appreciation

I'm writing this post to render my heartfelt appreciation to @kouba01 and the steemit team, 01 and 02 for their support during this challenge period. You know it's one thing to be creative and another thing to be motivated to get creative. By the time I put all these creativity into work and discover that they are overlooked and not even appreciated with comments, it would prompt me to give up on spending so much time in making a content unique with original pictures and videos.

I'll just write knowing fully well that I'll have no support. But this didn't happen. My creativities were very much appreciated and supported. This is enough drive for me to always give my best in any given challenge.

African culture and that of Latin America in general are closely related. Centuries of history unite us. I recognize the names and some items of clothing that, from African religions, have been blended with beliefs in Venezuela, for example.

Thank you for your contribution to America and Venezuela. Blessings.
