In one way or the other, most of us are in one form of relationship or the other. Having relationship doesn't really mean being intimate. As colleagues at work, there could be a form of mutual relationship between staff and staff or even between staff and management. You can have a good relationship with your boss at work. You can have a good relationship with your lecturer in school, a good relationship with people around you and all that. So, yeah...... Relationship doesn't realy mean being intimate.

What do you believe is the number one secret to a strong relationship?

Communication is key in every relationship. It is a secret to building and sustaining a very strong relationship. Once there is a free flow of communication between both parties, there will surely be understanding. Once there's understanding, there will be respect for each other most especially in terms of boundaries. And once all these are met, you are sure of a strong relationship.

What role does active listening play in building stronger connections?

Active listening is a very vital component in building and sustaining a strong relationship and its role cannot be overemphasized. You need to have the quality of good and active listening so the other partner knows that you truly shows concern and have him/her at heart. Even if you don't have answers or solutions to what is being discussed, just give them that listening ears. It means a whole lot.

Can a relationship survive without forgiveness? Why or why not?

Hmmmmmmm....... It's more like asking if a tortoise can survive without it's shell.
Nay. A Relationship can not survive without forgiveness. Without forgiveness, both parties will always hold on to their past grievances at any slight provocation. This of course will always leave a dent on the relationship thus causing a lot of friction between both parties.

What’s a common mistake people make in relationships that weakens them over time?

Lack of communication is one of the most common mistakes People make in relationships. Many a times, people assume their partner already knows what they want.

Sometimes, not expressing feelings always weakens relationships over time. Also, active listening shouldn't be relegated to the background if you want to build and sustain a strong relationship.
