My Neighbourhood Watch#116-Reporting Event Around Us

Reporting event around us serves as one of the greatest medium to get to know and learn about certain happenings and occurrences in our immediate environment. This contest serves as an eye opener and as an avenue to create awareness to the general public.

I have learnt alot from this very contest and I will grateful to share with you all beneficial happenings in my environment. Positive news can also be shared to people which might help change their life forever. Bringing on happenings in my locality which is about Agriculture, mainly fish farming to people who wants to startup and to the ones that doubts farming money.

Fish farming is simply an act of growing or raising of fishes in a controlled environment. The controlled environment can be a pond, lake, tanks another control bodies. The most used environment is the tank and pond environment which seems cheaper to start with.

I was opportune to have a direct talk with my neighbour that specialises much on fish farming. She said;
Fish farming is very lucrative and one of the mainstay of the economy, earning from fish farming is actually 80% sure.

Getting to know more about fish farming

Fish farming doesn't really require much capital to start up as far as there's a nice environment to raise the fish, you can actually start from few fingerlings. She said people can't really do without purchasing fish because it's a great source of protein and also seems cheaper than meat.

Before starting fish farming you will need some basic things which are:

📍A good environment(land) and water supply:

Having a space for the fish to be raised is the no1 requirement before considering availability of water.
Water supplied must be clean and unpolluted.

📍Structures for the fish to be raised
I mentioned some environment that can be used to raise fish which are ponds, lakes, tanks and more. Getting a tarpaulin is more cheaper and easy to move from one place to another.

📍Capital and fingerlings(little fishes)
Capital is required in any business so capital is needed too in fish farming to get fingerlings, tarpaulin and other basic requirements.

📍Fish food(feed) and good management techniques
The fishes won't grow if proper food is not apportioned to them. Management techniques is needed to keep watch of the fish and other basic fish requirements.

She also listed few fishes that can be raised by a farmer which include:

Clarias and channel
Those above mentioned fishes are very productive and also serves as fish that can reproduce and hatch fingerlings .

Growing fingerlings is seem as the most easiest way of fish farming. There are certain steps to be considered when growing fingerlings which are:

📍Get a tarpaulin or tank as their environment: getting a tarpaulin should be the easiest environment for now, wash and clean off organisms.

📍Get in clean water that do not contain salt or chlorine The water used for growing fingerlings matters alot, that's disinfected water shouldn't be used to grow fingerlings.

📍. Get food hatching to start up, you can actually buy from a good source or breed it if you can.

📍 Feed them properly
📍Change and clean water too

This very neighborhood watch introduced me to mega source of income within our immediate environment. Your environment can affect you positively and this one is really one of it.

She started with one tarpaulin last year, now she's actually raising more than 5 tarpaulin. That's how far the business can take you to.
