SC-S26W1/Video Editing, Getting Started

in Steem4Nigeriayesterday (edited)

Hi friends, it's a pleasure to participate in this season's Steemit challenge. This is one of the interesting Steemit challenge this season although I had to learn to get the interpretation of the language used.

A few months ago, I had the interest of learning video editing because I wanted going into content creation. I have a friend who is really good at editing of videos, I asked she could help me and she agreed but she never had the chance to but I was so eager to learn. Because I was eager to learn, I had to download the capcut app and started learning by myself. At first , I made a lot of mistakes, it was exhausting but I was excited that I could import the video.

To be sincere, this is my first time of learning editing from anyone. Our teacher has done a very great job. To begin my editing, I had capcut app downloaded some months ago on my phone.

Task: Creation of a video from two clips.

Step 1: I opened my capcut since I had it downloaded in my phone. I clicked on "New Project." From there, it showed me different videos and I selected the first video.

The video is my son's school graduation party and, the first video was a time where parents were asked to dance with their children (graduands).

Step 2: After that, I clicked on the plus sign at the end of the video and it took me back to my gallery and I selected the second video which was the time the graduands came back for their song presentation.

Step 3: Setting the screen frame(Ratio)

I pressed "Aspect Ratio," from there, I selected the landscape size which is 16:9

Step 4: To edit the video to make it short

I clicked on edit and it showed me different options. I proceeded to click on split.

From there, I clicked on the splited part to highlight it and then clicked on delete to delete that part off the video. The part I highlighted and clicked delete is the part I don't need in the video.

I used the same method to remove capcut ending as well.

Step 5: Adding overlay

I clicked on the overlay on the screen and it took me to my gallery again.

There I selected the Steemit logo that was download already.

It appeared very large and so, I used my finger to adjust it to a smaller size where I shifted to the corner of the video. Since it was just at a spot, I also used my finger to drag the overlay logo to cover the whole video.

Summary

For the video I uploaded, it is my son's graduation party from his nursery class to basic. The event marked a new era in his academics, it was his first graduation and so a milestone for him. I decided to use the video do that it can be saved in Steemit for him, he may see it someday.

Video editing was done using my phone itel A70

Saludos amigo.

Thank you so much, I actually set the ratio, I've just noticed that I didn't upload the edited video, I've uploaded the right one now . Thank you so much for the visit to my blog, this truly means a lot to me and I also appreciate your good suggestion that made me see my error.

Thank you so much for the support.

We are just the best people to give ourselves the push we need to get somethings done. I love your passion to learn and here you are, able to do it yourself, it shows how determined you are.

But I noticed you didn't crop the videos before importing, I guess maybe there was no need for that. In all, you did your best and good luck with that!

Thank you for coming around dear. I really tried my best ooo.🤣 I used the splitting method to crop it since that was much easier for me. I appreciate your visit
