Contest 110 | Family Moments

My family is very special and important to me because of the bond that binds us together in love. This unconditional love does not need anything in return, and my wife has several times proven her sincere love during our difficult times and challenges. Her support has created a sense of belonging in me, making me feel that I am not alone and that, apart from God, she is always there to encourage me when necessary. Her resilient character improves my personality and makes me adapt to life and get back on my feet against all odds.

On the other hand, my children are my bundle of joy; seeing them happy is one of the best things that happens to me. Perhaps we sometimes sit down together to eat as a family, and this gives us the chance to discuss ourselves and connect more intimately as a family. WHY we sustain this love is because the understanding we have is built on trust, knowing that we both have each other's best interests at heart.

The fun memory with my family was adventurous for my children because it was actually their first experience going to a farm since they were born. They really expressed their minds and appreciated every move we made because they planted cassava with corn by themselves while I and my wife were welcomed back after several years of staying in the city.

We took the bold step of cultivating a vast span of land, as seen in the picture above, where the children and their mother were resting after a very serious engagement in the farming activities. In all this, it was fun going to the farm after a long time, and the stress and challenges faced were well-deserved. And at the other time was the celebration of my first daughter's birthday, and we decided to have fun together taking some photo shoots.

There are so many things that I have learnt from my family; the very first one is the strong commitment to understanding one another. Showing love through action and in word, most importantly being there for one another.

Thirdly, I learnt that family is a source that provides support when there are challenges. I've also learnt that communication is a fundamental bedrock for building trust in relationships. Lastly, I wish to state that a strong and reliable family is a choice and can be created with intentional effort.

The one thing I would like to do more of with my family is spend more time with them to build a strong and reliable relationship between my wife and the children. Spending a lot of quality time together will help us understand ourselves better in the relationship, instilling values and promoting a more healthy behaviour in the family.
