...Checking on my Buddies.
I think I just bursted someone's bubbles with the caption of this post above. Yeah! These guys you see here are my buddies. There is this natural relationship that humans will continually have with animals, especially the one that has become to them pets.
A good example is a dog or even cat, many have made these animals their friends, I've seen many folks cry when they lose these animals, why? It's simple, they have become friends or better still buddies... I believe you now get my point now. Anyway I just love being around these animals because they're friendly.

So I went visiting as my usual custom is to check on the farm in general which of course includes me going to their pen to say hello both the piglet, those in the grower stage, those undergoing heat period and the others, just to know how they are doing.
The first place I decided to check was the mothers' pen with their piglets and of course I was glad with what I met. They're looking all good and healthy except for the fact that the mother pigs need to feed more and regain their normal body weight and size.

There is something common with pigs after giving birth, they tend to lose weight due to breast feeding, you can imagine breastfeeding about 8 - 10 piglets at a go, that is quite a serious draining task. Only God will bless mothers, the kind of relationship they have with their children is uncommon.
For this reason we focus on enriching and increasing their food after birth because we know they are indirectly feeding their piglet who at this early stage find it difficult to feed directly on the food we provide except breast milk.

Above are my buddies saying hello, they would have jump off that barricade if it wasn't a bit higher than their heights. Well that reaction of theirs was as a result of their perception about me at that moment. I was literally smelling like their food because I had actually gone to pick up their feed at the factory that same day, that was the reason why they could perceive it and wanted to see if I was having some with me...of course they were hungry but we needed to compund the food with all the required nutrients.

I also had to say hello to some of the pigs that had been weaned, we are actually grooming them for market standard and weight which should not be less than 50kg per pig. They are doing quite fine and active. That is always the joy of a farmer that his investments are doing really well.

Have we had moments of lose? Of course yes, not once, not even twice but we moved regardless. We have learnt to celebrate both our wins and losses and don't get trapped in our unpleasant moments. That should be the response of any farmer who really wants to forge ahead.
Okay, I think I've said so much about my buddies, so tell me about yours. Are you into any kind of livestock farming? How do you cope with them. Let's rub minds guys.... By the way enjoy the video I made, my buddies are saying hello.

Interesting! It's so great to see that you rare pigs of all stages. Your relationship with these animals is amazing because you tend to understand them so well. It's just unfortunate to them that when they are mature, they'll be sold out and they'll land in some pots like that.
Best wishes to you sir, I'm just excited to see that people are more involved in agriculture than before.
I've got no choice than to understand them. The farm doesn't belong me, I only manage it for now...the experience gotten in this farm will help me build and develop mine....Thanks for your words of encouragement.
