When I was glueless
Life memories is a such a wonderful thing we should always cherish and again give glory to God for giving us the ability to remember the things that happened in the past.
So my first time using a cell phone was a joyous moment, until I had my way of opening a Facebook account, here concerntation was lost in other relevant things, a day comes where I left a pot of beans to get too soft because I was carried away with the communication process on Facebook.
Again I attempted helping mom cook her second pot of fried rice for the first time during x-mas, although I tried,, but my colour came out a green rice😁
I still won't forget how my favorite food was soup thicken with garri and some bonga fish added to it. Till today am still wondering why I made such decision for myself then.
How was I the best pupil in my elementary school, then still finding it difficult to believe, when I graduated to secondary school, my second term result wasn't impressive to my primary school teacher, I met this man on my way to the filling station, he stopped me and asked of about position, I didn't even complete saying "fourth" I had a slap on my small face, he was like, why will you leave your position to another person, I swear I never knew what to answer. Same me that entered insearch of mushroom with my sister on my final exams, before I could get to school, the exams was already written, my poor mind was thinking that it's the last exams so it will be written in the afternoon.
I visited my uncle's house during one holiday, been a pastor, prayer and fasting was a routine every weekend. Here in my uncle's house the policy that children prays first before the parent summarizes the prayer, my uncle believes that because we are been sent to school, we should always pray in English.
It's only God that knows how he edited our prayers then.
Thank you for reading
Immediately I read this your post , my childhood memories just reflected, this post just made my day. It really took me on a nostalgic journey, and I could feel the mix of joy, innocence, and those funny little mistakes that make childhood so memorable. The part about leaving the pot of beans too soft because of Facebook made me smile, many of us have had moments where technology completely distracted us from our chores, surely am one of them even until now 😂😂. The “green rice” 😂😂😂. (Christmas identity) cooking was another hilarious highlight, but now things are changing oooo, the green rice are losing out ooo because of high cost of things, it’s beautiful that you can now look back and laugh about it. Childhood has a way of teaching us lessons in the most unexpected ways, like your encounter with your primary school teacher, and the mushrooms hunt during exams. And your uncle’s “prayer in English” rule was both strict and amusing, it’s these small experiences that shape us into who we are today. Life’s memories, as you rightly said, are treasures we should cherish and thank God for. They’re not just stories; they’re the building blocks of our growth and character.
It is great to see that you had a great and pleasant childhood experiences, those little things matters a lot. Value and preserve them. Africa ways of children brought up will still remain the best.
Good luck on your engaging post. Because it just engage my childhood memories. I love this write brief and precise.
