It was Weekend of weddings, 2 in a roll

Wedding is a beautiful thing, it was originated by our Heavenly father in the garden of Eden thousands of years ago. Our first parents, Adam and Eve were the first couple to be joined in marriage, while all the Angels were spectators. Yes, they were able to tie the knots after due processes were followed. Till today, wedding continues and this past weekend, I was opportuned to be a spectator and a witness to the two couples that said yes to each other.

Friday wedding

I was invited to this wedding by @alli001 because he knows that I know the couple. Yes, though a year ago, the groom lost his first wife in an accident and according to the law, death separates a married couple. Since then, the groom had been alone and recently sought to be with someone again. After due processes, he decision call friends and family to witness their joy as they say yes to each other. It was between Uduark and James. I was arranged to be a court wedding and then reception. So, I and my family decided to be present at the reception since that is what the invitation says. That faithful Friday, I went out for fitness training in the morning. Thereafter, I went home and got dressed for the wedding. The whole family got ready too and we left.

We weren't too sure of the vanue and so, I was asked to call Allison for directions. It happened that he took was already at the junction. We then went and picked him up. The location was then very easy for us with him.

Upon arrival at the vanue, we located a seat and sat down. Thankfully, we were still early as the both the groom and the bride were yet to be ushered in. Before long, the groom was asked to dance in and a special music was played for him and his men. They danced and danced as they moved in. I wasn't able to capture the moment. As soon as they say down, the Bride was assed to dance in with her entourage. A special song was played for them too. It looked like they rehearsed the dance steps in advance because all in the group were dancing in unison. It was very entertaining, you need to see what I witnessed but nevermind, the video below carries every details of the dance steps.

After they danced in, the bride's maids were asked to leave the stage for the Bride and Groom to dance. I as well captured this moment so well. It looked as if the Bride danced more than the Groom. I wasn't the only one that observed it. But they all danced wonderfully well.

Next, they went to take their seats. Then, it was time for cake and the feeding of the couple, in what is called the first assignment. The Groom fed the Bride with cake and wine and the Bride did the same. This is a ritual that is done in every white wedding. The idea is to ensure that both of them can care for each other when any of them is in a weak state. The man usually act as though he is returning from work, tired, then the wife will welcome him, care for him and feed him.

Then the wife will act as though she is pregnant and unable to carry out some duties. Then the man will care for her and even feed her. Most Brides are usually shy during this ritual. I did it during my time and to be frank, I was also shy but it is something one can't run away from. But these couple did it well. Other programs followed including when some selected kids sang a song for them that encourages them to remain united in love so long as they live.

Food was served afterwards and we left the vanue to Market square where we decided to just chill out as family. It's been a while we ate out as a family. We bought snacks and drinks and sat down to enjoy them while watching a movie. It was a fun evening for us.
