"SLC - S25/W3 Movie snapshots| hidden gems"
Good day steemians, i trust we are doing well. I'm really excited about this challenge because I am a movie person. I scout for good movies whether they are highly rated or not. This year, i have discovered movies that have been hidden gems. Special thanks to @Ruthjoe for bringing up this challenge which is enabling me to show these "gems" to the world. Without further ado, I'll go straight to the point.
In no particular order, here are 5 hidden gem movies that I discovered:
Movie trailer for YouTube
This Hollywood movie focuses on two friends; Barb and Star who are in their mid fifties who lose their jobs so they decide to go on a girl's trip to Vista Del Mar. There they meet a man and have so much fun, not knowing that the man was sent by a woman to bomb the island. This woman has lived with the trauma she had since when she was a child. She felt people treated her different because of her skin colour not knowing it was all in her head. Even though this happened years ago, she still wanted to take revenge on the island. Luckily these two women; Barb and Star were able to save the day and heal the woman of her trauma.

This is a Nollywood movie about a boy who rose to stardom through his voice. He started with contesting in a singing competition. However his career crumbled even before it began. He had an older brother whom his mum warned him about. She said he wasn't making his mom legally but he didn't listen. Soon, he was arrested along with his brother who was a fraudster. Even though the Star boy was innocent, he had to suffer the consequences because he was found at the crime scene. He lost his chance at the competition because he couldn't show up the organizers didn't want to give the award to someone with a bad name, so the first runner up took his spot. He had to start his career all over again. This movie has a lot of lessons. I really enjoyed it

This dramatic comedy movie shows two friends who live together. Their has expired and the landlord gave them few hours to pay the rent or be thrown out. They go through hurdles after hurdles to get this money. All efforts were in vain. They finally decide to host an Art sale since one of them was an Artist. They make a lot of money from selling the art and they pay their rent. In this movie, friendship and loyalty is put to the test. Forgiveness is key in any friendship and relationship. It was a really good one.
This is a family movie. It can be watched with kids too. Its a romantic comedy and two single parents who fall in love during their vacation in Africa. They fill each other's holes, stand up for each other, fight, make up and make memories. This movie will make you laugh really hard. It teaches us patience and that love comes in the most unexpected ways. I really love it.

This is a funny movie about a lady whose father is tired of seeing her single. He wants her to get married so he creates an account for her on a dating site and uploads her pictures with her consent. Plot twist: He goes on dates on her behalf and interviews the men to see which is fit for his daughter. He finally finds one who is charming on the outside but isn't trustworthy. Turns out he is a womaniser but this concerned Father doesn't know. This father goes ahead to give the man tips on how to win his daughter's heart. Things she loves to eat, wear, places she loves to go, e.t.c. On the other hand, the daughter finds a man who is mechanic but poses to be a rich man. At the end the truth is uncovered and she decides to forgive the mechanic because that is the one she's in love with. I recommend this movie. Its a Nollywood production by the way.
✅I didn't hear about these movies anywhere, didn't see the trailer, ad or review about it on any platform. i found them on my bored days while movie hunting.
✅ Their rating on the movie apps i use are low and discouraging. If i had judged them just by the rating on the app, i would have skipped them. They had low ratings. i think this is due to low views and no wide reach.
✅They weren't spoken about, i wouldn't say the people in charge didn't try to publicize the movies because I will be wrong, maybe they didn't have enough funds to push it to the right audiences.
- Influencers should be paid to promote these movies, post about them, make hashtags, clips from the movie can be used as a trend too.
- Cinemas should push movies like this, recommend it to people who are indecisive about what to watch
- Games about things that happened in the movie. Then the fans will get branded gifts in return
- People who have seen the movie shouldn't gatekeep. They should spread the word. If my friend tells me this movie is good, I'm definitely watching it. If a friend tells a friend, the movie will definitely cover a wider audience.
They weren't really talked about or advertised but after watching them, they had a special place in my heart.
I'll invite my friends @imohmitch @johngeorge @davidmarkgeorge to participate.
Thank you for participating in this challenge of season 25.
