Hello steemians and fellow members of steem4nigeria community. Greetings to everyone. I'm here to share my
views on this topic for this week. I want to thank @okere-blessing for organizing this contest. this will give me the opportunity to express all that was kept inside of me patterning to this topic. I love this topic. it's very interesting. I just hope you enjoy reading my contribution.

Have you ever met someone for the first time and been impressed or turned off because of the person's actions? Tell us.

You know first impression really matter. I want to tell you how I met my most recent apprentice. It was a sunny day and I had gone out to buy some art materials for my new project. While I was at the counter of the shop talking to the sales girl a young teenager walked in. He was so polite and genial.

After greeting us he then asked for his own materials. I was paying attention to him. He never noticed that. His humility and genial gestures make me like him instantly. I couldn't hold it to myself anymore.

I opened a conversation with him just to know him better. That was when he told me that he's an amateur in the art industry and probably want so mentoring and tutoring. Because I liked him I told him that I will like to be his mentor.

Explain your understanding of the saying first impressions matter a lot?

Despite the fact that first impression can't really tell everything about a person's personality it still matters.
This is it, people don't care about your inward character when the meet you for the first time. You have to look good.

You have to speak well and maintain good posture. You have to take your personal hygiene very serious. No matter how good you are nobody will know it at first glance. People will judge you with your outward appearance first. It is necessary for you to take care of yourself. This will help boost your self-esteem.

When you don't care for yourself nobody will take you serious. Nobody will want to associate with you. So the Impression you present to others really matter.

Tell us about your recent experience of a first impression of something or someone.

As the story above entail I met Abasikponke at an art material shop and his charisma and charm caught my attention. I said to myself "this little guy is from a good home." I couldn't just walk pass him. I decided to keep him as a friend

After I spoke with him I was invited by his Mum. She literally wanted to see the guy who wants the betterment of his son. Just like his son she and her husband were really genial. They gave me a warm welcome and good hospitality.

So since I was pleased with his first impression I decided to make him a steemian, apprentice and a friend. His username is @dheoracle here in steemit.

I believe that success is measured in how many lives you can touch. I will continue to help people with good first impression. Life is too short to waste.

Tell us how people can make first impression positively count.

There's a lot to do to make your first impression count positively.
I will speak about the few that I know.

  • Learn to dress well. Your sense of dressing is very significant.

  • Smell nice. Make sure you invest in perfumes and other deodorants.

  • Smile when you meet people for the first time. This will make you friendly and genial.

  • Practice good hygiene and grooming. Cut your hair as a man, trim your nails, care for your facial hair.

  • Make eye contact when speaking with someone.

  • Maintain good body posture at all times.

  • Give a firm handshake when shaking the person.

  • Try as much as possible to be a good listener. This will make you attractive.

  • Don't talk too much. Rather listen more so you can contribute positively to the conversation.
