HABITATIONS OF CRUELTY
"HAVE RESPECT UNTO THE COVENANT: For the dark places of the earth are FULL OF THE HABITATIONS OF CRUELTY."
Psalm 74:20 (KJV)
"REMEMBER what you have promised to do for us. THERE ARE DARK PLACES EVERYWHERE, WHERE CRUEL PEOPLE HIDE."
Psalm 74:20 (EasyEnglish Bible)
• The truth is: the world has become the habitations of cruelty! There is wickedness in the world (Psalm 74:20).
- However, no matter the darkness or the evil in the world (Isaiah 60:2), If you are on the Lord side, you will not be a victim of whatever the wickedness or evil.
- Some who claimed to be believers in Christ and much more those who are in the ministry work toil with sins—they do what the people of the world do.
- Whoever is living such a life, living in sins; even whilst claiming to be working for God, such is endangering his or her life. Sin makes your prayers ineffective.
• Another side of it is, a number of those who live in sins and yet claiming to be working for God are not His (1 John 3:6-8). In fact, they do not know God. Such people are servants of the devil, parading themselves as ministers of God:
13 FOR SUCH ARE FALSE APOSTLES, DECEITFUL WORKERS, TRANSFORMING THEMSELVES INTO APOSTLES OF CHRIST. 14 AND NO WONDER! FOR SATAN HIMSELF TRANSFORMS HIMSELF INTO an ANGEL OF LIGHT. 15 THEREFORE IT IS NO GREAT THING IF HIS MINISTERS ALSO TRANSFORM THEMSELVES INTO MINISTERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHOSE END WILL BE ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS" (2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NKJV).
- If a genuine believer or minister of God wanted to enjoy the pleasure of Egypt, that is, enjoy the sinful life; such should be sure that the benefits of the Kingdom would not be his or her's as well (Hebrews 11:24-27).
- Kingdom work is for chaste and pure people (2 Timothy 2:19). God is a perfect and Holy God, and He demands perfection—holiness and spiritual maturity—from whoever would serve at His altar:
15 BUT AS HE WHO CALLED YOU IS HOLY, YOU ALSO BE HOLY IN ALL YOUR CONDUCT 16 BECAUSE IT IS WRITTEN, “BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY" (1 Peter 1:15,16 NKJV).
• God wants excellence! He equally demands for a number of other things also, from whoever would be His vessel (2 Timothy 2:19-21):
a. He wants total obedience! (Hebrews 11:8; Genesis 12:1-4).
b. He wants purity—holiness (Hebrews 12:14).
- Note: If you cannot walk in purity, forget about the ministry work.
- God is strict, and a disciplinarian par excellence. What you do today that He overlooked would still wait for you in the future; If It was not corrected in your life.
- The lacking of purity in your life today, which you think does not matter, will hinder your greatness in the assignment given to you If you did nothing to deal with it.
- If you did not sit-up and correct your anomalies now, it may limit your future greatness.
• That being said, If you live habitually in sinfulness, your life is being endangered because the devil could access your life any time and wreck havocs.
- Sins in a believer's life remove the defence or protection of God made round the believer (Ecclesiastes 10:8).
- Through the story of Job in the Bible we could see how things happen in the spiritual realm. The devil had made several advances on Job, to harm him and his family, but failed (Job 1:10).
- This made us understand that God had made an hedge around him, Job, thus, he, satan, could not touch him and his family (Job 1:10).
- This shows that every believer who walks faithfully in the light of God's Word is being protected—an hedge is made around them, their homes, and all that belongs to them: "AS THE MOUNTAINS SURROUND JERUSALEM, SO THE LORD SURROUNDS HIS PEOPLE FROM THIS TIME FORTH AND FOREVER" (Psalm 125:2 NKJV).
- Those who rise as your enemies will fall If you live in line with the Word of God, the Bible (2 Thessalonians 1:6).
• You will not regret in your walk with God in Jesus’ name.
- Should there be any sickness in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' mighty name.
- The hold of the enemy is completely broken in Jesus' mighty name.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
