Greetings to everyone!!

Welcome to the third week of the Learn to Be a YouTuber program!
Last week, you wrote a complete and structured video script that included an introduction, content, and conclusion. Now it's time to move on to the more exciting stage of turning that script into a real video.

This third week, we will focus on the process of editing and upload optimization, two important things that often distinguish between ordinary videos and professional videos. We need to know that editing is not just about cutting and pasting clips, but also about how we can convey a story with a neat flow, clear sound, and attractive visuals. As for upload optimization, it refers to the art of making your video easier to find by viewers through the right title, description, tags, and thumbnail.

Learning Materials

1. Video Production Process from Script

Now it's time to move on to the most exciting stage: video production. For those of you who wrote your scripts last week, now is the time to bring your words to life in a visual form. For those of you who have just joined, please write your script first and don't forget to include it, then make the video.

Then you need to pay attention to several important things, such as:

1.Prepare Equipment and Location.
You must ensure that all video recording equipment is ready. Simple equipment that you can use includes a camera (you can use a cell phone with a clear camera with a minimum resolution of Full HD (1080p) or (1920 X 1080) pixels), a tripod or simple support, and a quiet location. Choose a place with good natural lighting, such as near a window or outdoors in the morning/evening. If your content is in another format, try to follow YouTube's rules and not violate them.
2.Sound Quality.
Not only clear video, sound is also key. So, use a clip-on mic or headset if you have one. But don't worry if you don't, just record in a room with minimal echo and noise. You need to do a short recording test to make sure your voice is clear.
3.Proper Lighting.
When recording a video, make sure you have enough light. You can use natural light or additional lighting so that your face is clearly visible. Avoid light sources from behind, as this can make your face appear dark (backlight).
4.Shooting.
When recording video, it is advisable to take several takes so that you can choose the best results when editing later. You need to try recording from various angles or camera distances (close-up, medium shot, wide shot) with the aim of producing a more dynamic video.
5.Be Confident in Front of the Camera.
To become a professional content creator, you don't need to be afraid to perform. It's normal to be stiff or nervous at first. The more you practice, the more natural you will become. Remember that the most important thing is not perfection, but your progress and courage.
6.Notes for Editing.
You need to ensure that all videos match the script and save all recordings neatly. Mark the good ones to make the editing process easier.

2. The Basics of Editing

After you have recorded the video based on your script, it is now time to move on to the editing stage. In this stage, all the video clips are put together into one interesting and perfect piece. We know that editing is an art of arranging the story, emotions, and rhythm so that the audience will enjoy watching until the end.

For the editing process, you can use mobile apps like CapCut, VN, or FilmoraGo, and if you have a laptop, you can also use editing software like Filmora, Premiere Pro, or others. I'm sure all of you are already familiar with editing in CapCut since the Steemit team has previously covered that topic in SLC26. The primary goal of editing is to make the video look polished, flow smoothly, and be enjoyable to watch.

1.Cutting
When editing, we will remove unnecessary parts, such as long pauses, mispronunciations, or irrelevant moments. Neat cuts make the video feel fast-paced and not boring.
2.Adding Text & Titles
You can also use text to clarify important points or introduce new segments. You also need to choose a font that is easy to read and not too busy. Keep in mind that text is only a complement, not the main decoration.
3.Transitions Between Clips
You also need to use simple transition effects such as fade in, fade out, or slide. But keep in mind not to overdo it. Only use transitions when absolutely necessary so that the video feels smooth and professional.
4.Background Music
You need to add music to enhance the mood of the video. You must use copyright-free music so that your video is safe to upload to YouTube. Adjust the music volume so that it does not drown out your main audio. To download copyright-free music on YouTube, go to studio.youtube.com, then go to the Audio Library menu. There, you can search for songs by genre or mood, listen to them first, then click Download to the right of the song you choose. Be sure to read the license section—if it says Attribution required, write the song and artist credits in your video description to stay safe from copyright infringement.
5.Outro (Closing)
To create an interesting closing, we can simply use a short message such as “Thank you for watching! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe so you don't miss the next video!”

3. Optimization When Uploading to YouTube

You have finished recording and editing your video and it is ready to be watched. Now it's time to upload it to YouTube so that many people can enjoy it. There are several important steps in the upload process because this is where you set how your video will appear and be found by viewers. Here are some important things to note:

1.Title
You should use a title that is interesting, clear, and contains keywords so that it is easy to find in searches. Example: “How to Create a Professional YouTube Channel Using Only Your Phone - Perfect for Beginners!”
2Description
You need to write a description of at least 100 words that briefly but informatively explains the content of the video. You also need to add links to your social media accounts. Don't forget to encourage viewers to interact, such as “Write your opinion in the comments section!” or “Follow me on Instagram for more tips.”
3.Tags & Hashtags
You should know that tags and hashtags help YouTube recognize the topic of your video so that it is easier for viewers to find. Tags are written in a special field when uploading videos on YouTube Studio, consisting of 3-5 relevant keywords such as learn YouTube, YouTuber tips, or edit videos on mobile phones. Meanwhile, hashtags are written in the video description or title with a pound sign (#), for example, #youtuberpemula #belajaryoutube #walictdclass. Correct hashtags will appear above the video title and help attract viewers from similar topics.
4.Thumbnails
In addition to the title, we must know that thumbnails are the “face” of your video. Therefore, it is very important to create images that attract viewers' attention, use clear expressions (if you want to show your face), contrasting colors, and short text. To edit thumbnails, you can design them in Canva or other free applications to make them look professional.
5.Playlist & Visibility
While this isn't always necessary, it's important to add your video to a playlist that matches its topic so viewers can watch other videos in the same series. Then, set the visibility to Public so everyone can see your video.
