Heading Home……..Northwest Cascade Wanderings

Phoenix looks like we felt today! Our whirlwind trip over the last three days was to wait for the arrival of our very first grandchild! We have waited a long time for a grandchild when we were surprised this past Christmas with a Christmas ornament that was inscribed, “ Merry Christmas Grandma and Grandpa! See you in 2025”, you can imagine my shock and joy this news brought! Well, she arrived on Friday, the 15th weighing in just shy of 10 pounds and at 22.5” long, the longest baby, one of the nurses said, she’d ever seen!

So Phoenix has a human sister and she isn’t quite sure what to make of her, lol! It will take a little time, but I’m certain they will fast become friends!

We had to park our car quite a ways from our son’s town home and on the way, there are Black-eyed Susans lining the entrance.

There were also large displays of rose hips-gargantuan in size, growing along some of the curbs there.

On one of the treks, we also found this lovely specimen of Turkey Tail.

The drive back wasn’t too bad with just spotty bumper to bumper traffic. We did stop at a Starbucks along the way for a recharge though!

I’m tired and ready to call it a day! That’s gonna be it for now. I’ll leave you with a different angle of Phoenix.

She was sad to see us go today. 🐶
