That Darn Squirrel! 🐿........... NW Cascade Wanderings
I love animals and I do hold a fondness for squirrels. 🐿️ They are cute and usually I lose the battle over the walnut tree. He harvests them before they’re actually ready and stashes them all around including my flower pots! I can live with that. But-now he’s going after the corn on my cornstalks! Yes-I know they love corn, but really?! He’s all but disassembled one of the posts at the driveway!
So this afternoon, I went out with new twine and re-tied them up. I added a few pumpkins to both sides of the gate as well.
Silly squirrel! 🐿️ Hopefully, he will leave them alone-probably not! 🙄
My day began at ladies Bible study after a soak in the hot tub this morning. We are in James and looked at chapter one again as our leader had created an outline on paper to work our way through.
Once home, I made lunch for both of us and then commenced to work on my continuing education. I finished the class-just 2 more to go! I went to a website to print the materials for the next one and discovered while waiting for it to print, that an eBay item I’d purchased had arrived but said I’d moved with no forwarding address! Really?! I had filled out a change of address back in September. We decided to stop renting the PO Box and purchase a security mailbox for home. Anyway, I texted @silvertop to see if he was close to home as I was heading to the post office and did he want to tag along? I picked him up in the driveway and we set out.
Long and short of it, they did still fortunately, have the package and I was able to retrieve it. 😅
Usually, they aren’t helpful at my post office but they were as I was, concerned about whether or not all ends of the system were aware. I’d received mail ‘ notifying me’ of the address change so I thought all was well. Hopefully, now all branches of the postal arm know!
Views from yesterday’s hike.
Tonight is the full moon. Last night as I turned out the lights, I noticed how much like daylight it seemed outside. I took this picture through the skylight ( I don’t venture out much after dark due to critters). It’s a little out of focus, but the cedar tree branches look interesting outlined by the moonlight.
My steps for the day:
Tomorrow is the beginning of my workweek. I’m sure it will be busy!
Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

NKJV James 1:5-8
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

@elizabethbit, your posts are always a delightful mix of daily life and beautiful observations! The squirrel saga is hilarious – they're such determined little bandits! Your autumn decorations are gorgeous, and the pumpkins add a lovely touch. I'm glad you were able to retrieve your package from the post office – those kinds of mishaps can be so frustrating. And wow, what a gorgeous moon photo! It looks so bright! Thanks for sharing your day, your inspiring Bible study thoughts, and those beautiful hike views. It's a pleasure to read your updates! Keep up the great work. 😊
