Deviant art at home

My apartment has been emptied of some of its occupants, as well as furniture and decor. The walls, in particular, are quite empty, with holes and hooks just waiting to be used.
I really like modern art because it leaves a lot of room for the imagination of both the artist and the viewer, and I've noticed that repurposing objects for their usual purpose is very common.
Repurposing objects to create decoration is something I've been doing for a long time. In my previous apartment, I had put a refrigerator gasket on the wall to support LED lighting, for example. (I'll have to find photos if they exist.)

So I started redecorating my current apartment with simple, easily replaceable objects.
First, this black cardboard box with holes pierced through it that I used to hold Nespresso capsules.

Once hung on the wall, it takes on a whole new dimension; it becomes an enigma for the viewer, who analyzes it and wonders what I was trying to express.
The minimalist aspect of the composition opens up the possibilities even more.
The gaze is lost in the holes that capture the attention; between the void and the material, it's difficult to focus on it, however.

Both ethereal and fixed, the arrangement questions oppositions. The massive, almost immutable wall becomes an accomplice in spite of itself. It holds the cardboard attached to it captive, but also finds itself trapped, as if caught in a spider's web.
The cardboard, simply placed on a hook, retains a certain mobility; it can dance with the air currents, and the surrounding light creates shadow effects, thus mobilizing a new dimension.

This grid now contains nothing since it was removed from its original purpose. This emptiness is a call to contemplation, a sort of mirror of our own porosity, a call to introspection. What do we let go, what do we retain from life? A life as fragile as this piece of cardboard, a life that we try to attach somewhere, to something, or to someone, but which can be moved like this grid, just as easily, whether we like it or not.

If you would like to share what this device evokes and makes you feel, I would be happy to hear from you.
I will be doing other posts about my current decorating.
