I asked it many times during the past years how Steemit should be promoted on X, what to say, what to tell.
I've been eager to recommend this to my friends on Medium, but after our bad experiences there—paying for membership and feeling mistreated. I want to be able to provide them with peace of mind, and the best way to do that is to successfully cash out a little myself. I also want to be able to support their content with at least the smallest vote to show them it's worth it.
It's a hobby, that's how I see it. A hobby should be fun, you invest time in it, in yourself, in what you like, in making friends. It shouldn't be a stressful experience time after time.
I assume your friends will know where you are and if they like they can join if the time feels right to them. If they comment like you, they will easily make friends and be noticed.
You can set 50/50 of your rewards. If it comes to the steem you receive, you receive the same amount of SP so you grow, your SP does and with that the VP you have to upvote others.
You can also earn by voting and of course, you receive interest over your SP.
My friends are readers and comments because it was what we supposed to do to support each other.
Yes, I've set it to 50/50 and I would keep powering up.

It's the best way of support on long term. The 50/50 is already 50% of your rewards. Rewards are paid in steem and SP.. the 50/50 is over the Steem.
