The wind silently rushed through the drizzling rain, the weather covered with dark clouds. Oh my, it was about to rain, rain on my neatly packed suit and shade. It was my defense day actually. **A day before today, I actually met with my corper friend who was done with her service. She got her POP last week and would be making movements this week. I'll definitely miss her though. I told her about my seminar defense today and she was telling me how hers was during her time and how straightforward the answers can be if you did the project and seminar yourself.

What am I even looking at in that bound book? I'll tell you soon. So the night before the project defense yesterday, I was awake watching a movie to calm my brain. One thing I detest doing is preparing for a talk or defense a night to that day. I prefer preparing it again few hours to the defense. I tend to understand the whole material. Morning came and I worn my navy blue suit with my shade. People called me pastor because of my appearance.

It was my defense day. I had to dress in such a way that the supervisors would be wowed by the dressing alone, talk more of the delivery. These are some specifications of my outfit for my defense

I boarded a vehicle to my school as we received an announcement on the WhatsApp group that our supervisor wants to see us by 9Am. He actually wanted us to defend as he was working on a given deadline. We arrived his office and waiting for quite a long time without traces of him anywhere campus. I actually stood for a couple of hours before seeing him come on board. It's not surprising though because he's always fond of coming late. So seeing him by that time would have been an improvement on his part.

While waiting, I messaged @bleesb, one of the judges of the #vos-25 Singing competition. I want us to sing a song together with @myrtle05 as our backup singer. You'll definitely love the harmony we are working on. This is the judges entry for the judges stage to show the contestants that singing isn't all about the voice but how you're able to strike the heart of the person you're singing to. Do you know songs make people cry? I'll definitely love to know if a judge cried after evaluating a contestant.

Finally, the man came and we assisted him in sweeping and tidying of the office. It's our regular way to get fond of the man and also gain favour in his eyes. What now? We assembled as a group and entered his office to present.

The Presentation
Our seminar topicPeer-led team learning and online resources in enhancing student's academic achievement and retention in chemistry in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.

When we entered into the man's office, we greeted him and answered according to our reg number. The last person on the line was asked her first question and it was the topic of the seminar. Trust me, she ate that question. Moving on, the next person was asked the significance of the study, why she chose to study this project topic. She did explain and I was given a chance to add or shed more light. I ate it as well.

You needed to hear my voice, my enthusiasm, my illustrations and comparison. The man was just sitting speechless, wondering if we could ever get it wrong. All of us nailed the questions that were asked. He didn't even had to go round again because we gave him what he was looking for. We saw our score before leaving and it was an A in the 3 credit load course. Joy overflowed in my heart as I knew I was able to defend without much questions.

In no time, we went to submit our project bounded copies after defending earlier on. So I'm officially a graduate? Project and seminar done. What else is the school looking for? I'm so done and I'm happy about this. The likes of @dwings, @nsijoro and @emmalex25 were done with theirs but unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture with @dwings. I only took a shot with @nsijoro and @emmalex25.

And guys, I'll say it is in complete fulfilment. If a road project is completed, it's commissioning that'll remain. So I'm so done with what brought me to school. Congratulations to me and I accept congratulations as well. I wish myself more higher heights in this wicked world.

Thank you 🫂

I believe in what you can do. Reading this felt like I was right there in the room, feeling the rush of confidence and pride radiating from you and your team. The way you described “eating” the questions with enthusiasm and solid explanations shows just how much effort and understanding went into preparing for your seminar on Peer-led team learning and online resources in enhancing students' academic achievement and retention in chemistry. That’s not just a topic it’s a powerful idea that speaks to modern, collaborative ways of learning. I can only imagine the lecturer’s surprise when every answer hit the mark without hesitation. Getting an A in a 3-credit load course after such an engaging defense is no small feat, it’s proof of mastery and hard work. Now with the project bounded and submitted, you’ve officially crossed that milestone! Like you said, this is the “commissioning” stage of your academic journey. Big congratulations to you . may this success be the stepping stone to even greater achievements my very boss 🤝🤝👏👏👏👏
