A SUMMARY OF SWEP ACTIVITY AT SCHOOL
As an Engineering students, there are some activities you must to do to be eligible to be in the next level. SWEP ACTIVITY is one of them. Basically SWEP means Student Work Experience Program. It is done in second semester of every 200 and 300 level student. It is a must because it is 100%. The funny thing about this SWEP, is that it's a course on it own. Let me shock you
The SWEP activity is always for one month
Each activities must end with attendance that's signing in and signing and it carries 70%, the Log Book is 30% let me explain everything about it.
This is very important wearing of Coverall is for our safety
Without it, we assume you are absent for the day
SWEP is a course and an that allows students in the 200 level and 300 level student to have an experience in almost every field of the engineering society.
Back then when I was in 200 level, I did the same course, thinking we will be learning our own field of study but instead we tour. We were asked to go to different 7 departments apartment which includes
Computer Engineering
Petroleum Engineering
Civil Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Agricultural Engineering
Food Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Apart my department we were asked not to go. I and my departmental mates went around different laboratories gaining information on various things that normally takes place. It was fun then, we learnt a lot about other departments that day.
Back to 300level, it is very different at all. But I my friends survived it.
This year's SWEP was a bit different. We began on Monday the 1st of September. On the first day registrations began and lasted for three days. I wasn't able to go on Monday but I had to go on Wednesday very early so as to get a log book and a document which contains each day's activities and what we are to do.

ELT: Where I bought My SWEP Log Book | Bus For Tour |
On the last day of registration we did a tour but this time it wasn't a departmental tour
We went to the faculty of law, faculty of Agriculture, NDDC hostel (Boys And Girls), faculty of clinical sciences and went back to our faculty and that was it for the day. The tour was in batches.
We did our SWEP ACTIVITY for two weeks. The remaining one week was House Keeping.
In House Keeping, we are asked to repair all the broken chairs in this 250 Thousand Capacity that's ELT
This is the Engineering Lecturer Theatre
We normally have lectures and write exams in there but the chair in were too bad . We're told to repair it and a welder was assigned to help us in doing the work.

We started by using spanner to loosen those ones that were bad mostly especially the blue coloured chairs. The work started exactly 8AM and ends by 4PM for complete one month so as to help the engineer who told what to do.
We loosen all the bad ones and took to the front of the building, a welder was assigned to help us do the do.
We were divided into groups two persons one chairs. Our job was to screwed up the chair from the ground and take it outside, the welder and some students will help in fixing it .

This is the part we kept the chairs after removing from the ground with the use of spanner. We carried it to this area for the welders to do their job. Afterwards the girls will help in removing sand from the hole to avoid the holes being blocked and to also stop the nuts from being stucked by the Sand not allowing it to enter

This other part is the welder comes in. The welder's job is very simple. There's always a cut metal by his side. He's just attach a small metal on the top of the long rod that's under the where the seat will be screwed again with school. It will be tightened and brought back to be fixed.

Two metals are weld together to the long rod, this blue sit will be loosen and the back rubber attached to it be amended so that I will fit in to that the welded metal. It will be fixed back and taken inside for finishing. Finishing is when it will fixed back to the ground and get tested
The building is very very big with the capacity of containing 250 students. We used one week to finish everything
I helped in screwing in and out some bolts and watchers will was used to tighten up the chair back to ground.
I also assisted in welding. Welding is not small job that you just wake up one day and do. It takes time to learn.
Me and other faculty mates ended exactly one month.

Our chairs are ready to use. Thank for the wonderful course SWEP. I actually enjoyed that particular week. It was nice. All the 300 Levels Student in the Faculty Of Engineering did a great job. Congratulations to us.
We submitted our log book with detailed information about what we did throughout the month. We submitted a report telling what and what we did and how it impacted our lives.

That's my experience for one month it wasn't easy. I was stressed up, @us-andrew, @imohmitch @mr-peng @samuelbrilliant @promisezella were stressed up. At least we learnt something.
Thank you for reading and watching
