The DIARY GAME || 22ND SEPTEMBER, 2025 || SECURING MY STUDENT ESSENTIALS :MY MEDICAL LAB CARD JOURNEY
Hello steemians, how are you doing?, I hope you had a good day and time. Today was the day I set up for some administrative task on my university checklist. Instead of just narrating how my day went. I want to share the experience of my administrative task at the university.
You know the official thing every student has to do. I will give you in detailed of how it went, including how i manage to do everything without wasting much time. For any fresher, or any future student reading this, consider it a helpful guide.
My Morning Plan
My main task was to get my medical lab card at the main campus in the University of Uyo, Uyo. Knowing how crowded the main campus office can be, I took a simple plan. I arrive there 30 minutes after the opening time which was 10:30 AM to avoid the early rush with my friend @us-andrew.
We arrived at the medical lab office at 10:30 AM. The arrangement of things in the office were nice. The shelves and tables were stacked high with green files, each representing a student. The two women inside were busy attending to student. We got attention of one and said
"Good morning, ma. Please, we came to get our medical lab card." She said, "Okay, give me a minute."
The Challenge:
We were given a detailed form to fill out by one of those women; this was where the real task began. The form was incredibly detailed. The form was long and had many sections. We had to write our full name, registration number, department, date of birth, our parents' names and occupations, their office address and phone number, and our next of kin details.
The challenge came up immediately. I forgot my father's office address. I had to call my senior brother, who laughed at me for not reminding me of such thing but he reminded me after some much of laughter.
@us-andrew faced a similar issue.
This taught me a lesson: always have a physical copy of key personal information or know it offhand when going for administrative work.
Time Management:
After filling the form, we submitted it with three passport photographs each. She checked everything and then gave us our medical lab cards! The card is small and green with my name, registration number, and department. I was very happy. This card allows me to get free treatment at the school medical lab. With this task completed by early afternoon, we rest a little bit. Grouping related campus tasks is a good way to save time and transportation.
To celebrate our achievement day, @us-andrew and I headed to the engineering market, where provisions are sold, and some restaurants for food. We enjoyed some meat pie and fish pie and some soft drinks, for the little planning made the day nice. And later went back home in the evening
Conclusion and Lessons Learned
Looking back, my day was a success because
• I planned my time very well.
•I did teamwork with my course mate @us-andrew; if not for that, we would have been there for a long time.
•I learned that it is always important to know all the necessary information about my parent's office address because I almost got stranded if not for my brother.
That was how I spent my day
