PEN ART REALISM — SPIDERMAN

I've been doing a couple of pen art for some time now, so I decided to step it up a bit. A realistic pen art of Spiderman from my memory for a start. And it turns out well.

Places I would have used red ink, I still used blue because of I didn't have a red ink at that time.

About The Character

Spiderman is a web slinging superhero who happen to get his powers from a spider bite.
From pages of comic books to premiering in marvel shows, the character has become loved around the world.

Origination

Peter Parker; A teenage science whiz who gains super powers from a radioactive spider bite.

The spider bite: After being bitten by the spider, Peter Parker gains super strength, agility and ability to sling webs from his hands.

STEP ONE
I started by making a sketch with a pencil, then used a bironto highlights it, after which I cleaned up the pencil parts.
I use to pencil to avoid mistakes while getting the proportions right. That's is the placement of the head, hand, leg and other parts of the body.

STEP TWO

I made the sketch bold enough but not too detailed, the I started shaded the head using cross hatching method.
That is stroke up and down, then side to side on the same spot.

STEP THREE
After doing the shading of the head, I went on the shading other parts of the body from left and moving down to the right.
While shading, I made sure to take note of some areas with light and shadow. I avoided shading the light too much while adding more ink and deepening the sides with shadows.

STEP FOUR

When I was don with all the shading, brought out another pen, with a sharper mouth. I used it to sharpen the edges.
Then I switched to using the former Big pen for blending.
