Hello, wonderful Steemit family!
I want to begin by appreciating the incredible team behind the “Tell Your Story” contest. You’ve created not just a contest, but a safe space where women like me can pour out our experiences, be listened to, and be valued. This platform has given many of us the boldness to open up and find healing through words. For that, I am truly thankful.

This is my humble entry for this week’s edition TELL YOUR STORY #59" a story that is very personal to me and one I will never forget. Special thanks to @ruthjoe for the consistent love and effort you put into making this possible.

If there is one area of my life that has been full of pain, it is love. My love life has been nothing short of unfortunate. Each time I gave love a chance, it always ended in heartbreak. After too many disappointments, I decided to stay alone until God decides it is time.

But then, life brought someone new my way. I met this boy one hot afternoon on campus. I was struggling with some materials, and he offered to help me carry them. At first, I refused, but he insisted, and I finally allowed him. That was how our interaction began.

He was kind, respectful, and very intentional. We exchanged contacts, and soon we were chatting, calling, and laughing like old friends. For the first time in a long while, I felt like maybe, just maybe I had found a reason to give love another chance. He seemed too good to be true. Sadly, I was right.

Our first outing was beautiful. Afterwards, he suggested I should come and see where he stayed since it was close by. I saw no harm in it, so I went with him. I was warmly welcomed, but what happened that day still pains me till today.

My phone, the one and only gift I had ever received from my twin brother went missing in his house. That phone was more than a device; it was a symbol of my bond with my twin who lives far away. I had used it right there in his room, but suddenly, it was gone. We searched and searched, but it was never found. He later claimed I must have lost it in the tricycle, but deep down, I knew the bitter truth: the person I trusted had stolen from me.

It hurt badly, not just because of the phone, but because I had allowed myself to believe in love again, only to be fooled. I felt like a fool for trusting too quickly.

But here is what I learned: not every smile is genuine, and not every hand stretched out to help is sincere. People can appear like angels, yet hide the heart of a snake. This experience has made me wiser. Love may not have favored me yet, but I refuse to let bitterness win. Instead, I will hold onto hope, knowing that when the time is right, real love will find me without deception.

I also want to invite @mercybliss and @jemilatbuhari to participate in this contest.

Thank you for going through my post and blog. I hope to get feedback

Hello dear @julietbella this really touched my heart 💔. It is so painful when someone breaks our trust, especially when we see them as honest and kind. I can imagine how hard it was to lose not only the phone but also that special memory of your twin brother.

You are very strong for sharing this experience, and I truly respect your courage 🙏. You are right, not every smile is real, but InshaAllah one day you will find the love that is pure and truthful. Stay hopeful and strong 🌸.

Thank you so much for the word of encouragement.
