EMPOWERING YOUNG MATHEMATICIANS - SCHOOL LEVEL MATH FAIR 2025

In my 12 years of teaching Math here in my Alma Matter, I can say that Mathematics is more than just a number and equation , it is about the way you think, solve, understand and relate it to real life situation. Last month, we had our School Level Math Fair to choose the best players in different categories. And I was assigned as one of the facilitator of Math Quiz.

With this year's theme, "Empowering Young Mathematicians, the events goal is to put fire on how they deal with Mathematics even if it is a bit challenging and to strengthen the problem-solving culture among learners.

Since it is still a school level, all the contents was held here in school. The said Math Fair brought together the contestants from different grade levels to compete in different categories like Math Quiz, Digital Damath, and a lot more and we also have for teachers category.

And I was assigned in the Math Quiz. Compare last year, the Math Quiz category is stressfree because we will not read anymore the question instead we will just be giving them a testpaper to answer in 40 minutes. Afterwards, the judges will check each paper. Then recognizing the winners after checking. We declared three winners, and gave them a certificate and medal. But only two (first and 2nd placer) compete for the district level.

The School Level Math Fair 2025 was successful and we were able to choose the best players. Through contest like this, the school will help the learners embrace challenges, think critically and see Mathematics as a lifelong companiom in achieving success.
