Nighttime food cravings- entry by steriii
Hello, fellow steemians and ladies!
It is a pleasure and privilege to join in on this contest this week.
It's fun to talk about our cravings, thanks to this post.
And this is my entry 👇:
At what time do you usually start craving a late night bite. Is it a sweet craving or savoury, or does it Drepend on mood?
Well, the late night craving would usually start around 9 pm to 10 pm. And also the taste depends on my way mood; it could be sweet craving, it could be savoury. It could even be something peppery, but most times usually something savoury.
When the craving comes, I go for what the taste buds wants at the moment.
Do you try to give in or try to resist your craving? What is your immediate thought?
I won't lie, when late night craving comes, I usually try to resist it; especially if it is something I have to make myself, the lazy bone in me would try to get over it 🤧.
So if I would try to resist or give in depends on how willing I am to get it.
Do you prefer making homemade healthy food or try an instant snack?
Oh well…at this point, I think I would go for instant snack. I mean, I would love to walk into the mall and get my cravings as soon as I can. Most times, late night craving are instant snacks. Like, would one be craving a few slices of bread, other flour foods, cookies and start baking them at night?
The cravings might have even gone before you're done.🥲
Except if my cravings is something I could make as quick as possible, I would rather go for instant snacks.

Alright. A favorite late night craving is the plantain chips and as expected it takes less time and less effort.
_ Ingredients:
Unripe plantains
Vegetable oil
Salt.
_ What you need:
Frying pan
Bowl
Sieve.
Knife
_ Process:
- Pour enough veg. oil into the frying pan and place on the burner to heat.
- While your oil is getting heated, get your unripe plantain, peel it and slice thinly
- Slice as many as you want then add salt to it. Shake together and let the salt mix well with the slices.
- By now, the oil should be well heated already, then gently add the slices into the oil.
- Gradually do the same for the remaining ones and turn gently at intervals to avoid burning the chips.
- Gradually, do the same for everything till you're done frying them all.
- As you fry, use the frying spoon to remove the fried chips from the oil into the sieve to drain away excessive oil.
- Enjoy your chips, thereafter with any drink of your choice.
_ All these would take nothing less than 10 minutes and nothing more than 20 minutes.
Share the photo of the midnight snack you have prepared recently.
Well it's been a while I made a midnight snack but here is what it looked like below
Do you think having late night craving is healthy? How often do you get midnight craving?
Well, as much as it is so good to enjoy midnight cravings, I don't think it is healthy.
Research has it that eating late is not too healthy.
There is high chance of going to sleep immediately after eating when what you have eaten is not yet digested.
It is not really healthy for the abdominal cavity.
And I don't frequently get this cravings, like once in a week or two.
This is the end of my post.

For me late-night cravings are also linked to habits. For example, I might always have a snack after a stressful day or when I sit in front of the TV.
Yes please.
Especially when you're too tired and it's too late to cook anything.
