There are a lot of scams on steemit.

I always see people posting about coin doubler. When I investigated a hand full of these accounts to try and figure out if they were actually real people. I found that the accounts were sitting on zero steem after they made their posts boasting of enormous gains. They were sending all of their money to some account called escrow services. So I just assumed they were all being run by the same person because they were all sending their money to the same account.

There are a variety of services on steemit that make some glorious claims to help you.

Some of the services I would be especially cautious of are the third party services that allow you to delegate steem power and check you account stats. These services often ask for your password. This is a major point of failure. Never give out your password. You might lose 50 steem to coin doubler but if you give out your password you will lose your entire ballance.
