RE: Worst Advice for Writers
I guess there's always a point where one doesn't get enough support from non-creative family, or perhaps can't live up to the name of their creative family background.
I write for myself, which is why it's so difficult for me to take on writing jobs where I really can't squeeze out anything to meet the requirement.
One can see this pattern in me: I would join contests without even knowing what the prize was, simply because I felt I could write something for it. Each time I wrote with the sole intention of winning something, it never happened for me, desperate writing for prize. LOL
I only realized how much writing helped me to feel better when my therapist asked really deep questions about why I write and my feelings. It helps to articulate emotions and to put words to unspoken things that have happened.
As for those unwarranted reactions from certain people, there are so many reasons—whatever it is, they shouldn’t troll me like that. Not nice.
You can stop the trolling. Most trolls are very bad in receiving the same treatment.
You can write a column. About what keeps your mind busy. From past, news, shopping, recioes,
vomiting cats ... these are the things many will recognise. A bit sarcasm, always good for a laugh.
They say that if you aren't lucky with gaming/gambling you are with love, if you ask me both don't work for me 🤣
I can never clapback at those trolls. My response would only arrive after a long time. 😓😓😓
A column would be nice. Hopefully I can be consistent in that.
The luck thing is a hoax. Never work either way for me 😖😖😖
That is something you can practise. Trust me I did and today it works.
It will take me a long time to master it
Or you come to a point you have no choice. You can also protect yourself by leaving.
I chose to ignore those trolls but somehow it emboldened them thinking they can treat me like a doormat. Horrible people
In a way you have to stay ground ( a nasty period I can tell you they will keep trying out how far they get) but as soon as you change, everything changes and you attract people who like you for who you are and are happy to read you.
That's why I never like to go for school reunions or gathering. Some people are quite pathetic. I think they ran out of things to say, so they made me a target. They think they are funny because people were laughing to their jokes at the expenses of me.
