It's certainly sad and I wonder where it went wrong but also whether such a "child" didn't already have an abnormality much earlier that perhaps the parents laughed away or of which they said: well it's just a child.
Strangely, there are many such situations and after years of foster care and counselling I do have the experience that not always the parents are to blame. Some children have terrible character and it manifests itself at a young age.
When the judge said: there are also pets that the owner has had enough of and gets rid of them or has them killed, do you want that too? Then I thought: a pet is many times easier than a child, makes fewer demands and is always happy to see you.
