When I'm out and about with my little team, it often happens that I take a short break and take a detour. With the little ones, you're usually moving rather slowly and I'm naturally much faster on my own and don't have to take anyone into consideration when it comes to speed. I can scurry off to the right or left and look around the next corner, and I'm usually back again quickly.

That's generally the big advantage of traveling alone, that you can almost always decide for yourself when and where to go. Many years ago and in other countries, I was also able to walk in any direction I wanted without having to ask someone if they would like to go there too. This saves time and of course brings you to your destination much quicker. You get to see more and, above all, you are able to see all the things you want to see.

Well, everything has its pros and cons, and times have changed. To be honest, I'm pretty happy to have wonderful people by my side on my excursions and trips these days. These are the people I enjoy traveling with and I definitely wouldn't want to miss this company. Even if it sometimes takes a little longer and we might arrive at our destination a little later.

And as I said, if I discover something on our way that piques my interest, I occasionally take the liberty of moving away from my team and for a few minutes wander around on my own. Shortly afterwards, I'm back again and excitedly report the things what I've seen. I usually end up with a few new pictures in my camera. You've probably already noticed that I simply can't do without. Taking photos is part of my life and our world simply offers too many wonderful motifs for me to ever be done with that...
