In this post, I will once again review a house of Allah located in the center of Lhokseumawe, where I live. The Baiturrahman Mosque is the pride of the Lhokseumawe residents, located in Lancang Garam village, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City. This magnificent and beautiful mosque is an icon of Lhokseumawe City, having been built since 1978. Baiturrahman Mosque is the oldest and largest mosque in the city center. Because this magnificent Baiturrahman Mosque is located in the city center, it does not have a large field.

Unlike most other mosques with expansive courtyards, the Baiturrahman Mosque has convenient parking for both cars and motorcycles. Worshippers needn't worry about parking their vehicles while praying or engaging in other activities around the Baiturrahman Mosque. Furthermore, the parking area is manned by a security post, manned by officers at all times. A particularly striking feature of the Baiturrahman Mosque is the bamboo flower tree in the center of the courtyard, which serves as the main entrance to the mosque.

The moment you enter the mosque, you'll feel a sense of comfort and coolness. The Baiturrahman Mosque boasts luxurious facilities, including eighteen air conditioners installed along the walls. There are also eight air conditioners perched on each pillar. The Baiturrahman Mosque is a magnificent mosque with beautiful decorations and a very comfortable place to pray. Personally, I rarely go to the Baiturrahman Mosque for congregational prayers. Because it is quite far from the house where I live, about five kilometers.

However, as evening prayers approached on Tuesday (August 26, 2025), I was reminded of the Baiturrahman Mosque and decided to attend the Maghrib prayer in congregation. Moreover, I had previously received information that after Maghrib, a regular religious study session would be held by Ustadz Dr. Nazli Hasan, MA, Lc. He is a renowned preacher and well-known in Lhokseumawe City. In this brief lecture, he spoke about the virtues of mosques. Like most mosques in Aceh, the Baiturrahman Mosque is used for congregational obligatory prayers and also for various community and social activities.

The mosque also houses numerous Quranic manuscripts for use by worshippers or visitors. The Baiturrahman Mosque also provides a dedicated prayer area for women, complete with adequate and clean prayer robes (mukena). The women's prayer area is separated by a curtain and located at the back. The ablution area, an essential part of a mosque, also appears clean and spacious. Other facilities at the Baiturrahman Mosque include a library and a dedicated study room for women. There's also a minimarket offering a variety of affordable necessities.
