RE: The Jirga | A Timeless Pashtoon Tradition of Justice and Peace

in CCC10 days ago

Are the people involved in the conflict satisfied with the decision made? Or have they become angry with the elders for not accepting the final decision?

Sort:

In most cases, the people involved in the conflict accept the decision made by the elders, as the Jirga system is highly respected in Pashtoon culture The elders are chosen for their wisdom and neutrality, so their judgment is generally trusted However, in some rare cases, if one side feels the decision is unfair, they might express dissatisfaction But outright anger or rejection of the elders' decision is very uncommon, as it is considered disrespectful and against tradition

It must be very gratifying for all those involved in that decision to have their points well accepted by all involved, and what is decided there by the wise elders.
